Unity
Unity
When trouble overruns the community or tragedy strikes unexpectedly, people tend to clump together physically and spiritually. The ongoing Corona Virus pandemic and nine-eleven are two good examples. There is strength in numbers and solace in mental dependence. However, these traits are superficial and temporary. As sorrows pass, time dulls the edge on anxiety, and normal self-contentedness returns with a splash. Though God is mentioned in these dark days it is from the mouth and not the heart. In Psalms 119:165 God’s word states: “Great peace have they which love thy law and nothing shall offend them.”
There are a few who believe in God’s words and adhere to them faithfully. Some believe only certain scriptures and reject others. Some depend on God’s promises with reservations and wavering faith. But, some believe with all their soul, heart, and being.
Let me tell you that God’s promises are firm, infallible, and eternal. It has been refined in the fire of the spirit as a silversmith purifies silver and gold. God’s word means exactly what it says. There is no room for doubt.
Do you not find it strange that, in times of trouble, many trust each other but doubt the word of God? We tune into exaggerated reports of mortals as though it is gospel truth. We make decisions on the weak and fabricated facts of the news media and shy away from God and His mighty knowledge and strength. No greater peace can be drawn from worldly shining days than that we get from God’s Holy Word. If we walk by faith and believe without wavering that He means exactly what He says, there is peace and joy unspeakable. Go to His Word and seek out His promises and dwell in them.
Mark 12:30 “And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
Luke 10:27 “...Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.
Mark 12:33 "And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices. “
To know God is to love Him. If you do not enjoy a personal relationship with Him: Romans 10:9 “...if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
Matthew 6:21 “For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”
Know God, know peace. Amen 06/05/21 BL
