Now That's Odd

An Odd Thing (Part one of two)

Some seventy years an odd thing happened to two little boys on the way to grandma's house. They were as homeless as children could be and still have a dwelling place; they were runaways. They never intended returning “home.” They arrived at a small creek near their destination. Wondering just how well they might be received paused their intent. They began to toss gravel into the stream from a highway bridge. Their presence was discovered by family that were stringing beans on the front porch. An aunt came and welcomed them into her home. She prepared a good meal. As they ate, she ask a question: “how long you boys going to stay?” The seven year old stopped gulping food long enough to answer. “Uh, a million years I guess.” Now that is odd.

Genesis 5:32 “And Noah was five hundred years old: and Noah begat Shem, Ham, and Japheth.” NOW THAT’S ODD!
Genesis 5:32 And Noah was five hundred years old: and Noah begat Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Genesis 6:8 “...Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.
Genesis 6:13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.” Genesis 7:6 And Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters was upon the earth.” NOW THAT’S ODD!
Genesis 17:21 “...my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year. [Genesis 22:2 ] “And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.” NOW THAT’S ODD!
1 Peter 3:20 “...God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.” [2 Peter 2:5] And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; [Genesis 19:29] And it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when he overthrew the cities in the which Lot dwelt. [Genesis 19:30 ]And Lot went up out of Zoar, and dwelt in the mountain, and his two daughters with him; for he feared to dwell in Zoar: and he dwelt in a cave, he and his two daughters. [Genesis 19:36 ]Thus were both the daughters of Lot with child by their father.” NOW THAT’S ODD! To be continued tomorrow.
