Home Base
Ho
Life from “behind the eight ball” is foreboding. Often, running life from base to base is also dissatisfying. Sometimes the goal post at the far end of the field seems miles away. The evil one tries to set us up behind a good life. He wants us dependent on his vises. Sin separates us from God. Standing on third base with the bases loaded, one sees home base as a target reachable only with great speed and a powerful slide to out distance the ball of failure. We don’t have to remain “between a rock and a hard place.” For every trial in life God, for His children, makes an escape.
1 Corinthians 10:13 “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
Hebrews 2:3 “How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation;...”
2 Peter 2:20 “For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning."
Galatians 5:1 “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
Luke 21:36 “Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.”
2 Chronicles 7:14 “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."
Acts 11:26 “...the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch."
Revelation 19:13 “And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.”
Philippians 3:13. Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” Know God, know peace. Amen. 01/17/21 BLL
