Whatever

Whatever

Many times I have been in conversation or overheard this generation in disagreement consenting in a condescending manner by exclaiming “whatever.” This is a word yielding satisfaction that they have won the argument and have no other proof to offer. “Whatever” comes from having or showing a feeling of patronizing superiority. I am sure all of you have witnessed this method of safe escape from a lost argument. “Whatever,” in the Word of God translates as “whatsoever.” John uses this word strongly in Philippines.

Philippians 4:9 “Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.”

Philippians 4:8 “...brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Matthew 21:22 “And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.”
Matthew 5:34 “But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne: 35 Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King. 36 Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black. 37 But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.”
John 14:13 “And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

James 4:13 “Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: 14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. 15 For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.”

Philippians 7:4 “And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Know God, know peace. Amen. 01/19/21 BLL
