Wanderer
WANDERER
- A long, long time ago, a country song made the circuit of popularity. Titled “The Wanderer,” it describes, to a great extent, several of our church folks today. As sung by Chris Jones, it begins with: “How it all fell into place You cold see the journey in the lines upon my face No way to think that there's no master plan When I look at where I started out, and then at where I am I'm a wanderer, I'm a pilgrim I was made to move to the beat of my own drum On my way, to God's great kingdom Grateful for the road ahead, grateful for the miles that I have come Willing to sing a song Well I'm the type of guy Who'll never settle down.”m
- Many today hold to the theory that they are free agents following some self designed path to heaven. It is foolishness to seek God’s way and having found it fail to follow. Jesus is the path and in his tracks we must follow to reach the gate of pearl. One must seek the true word of God and take root where it is taught. “A rolling stone gathers no moss.”
- Proclaimed and likely deceived teachers and preachers of God’s word, issues a watered down ‘teddy bare love’ of God to attract and keep a large crowd. They are in much danger. Those listening will wander seeking sweeter and sweeter praise from other church leaders. They are wanders and may never know the truth.

- Acts 13:7 “Which was with the deputy of the country, Sergius Paulus, a prudent man; who called for Barnabas and Saul, and desired to hear the word of God. 8 But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith. 9 Then Saul, (who also is called Paul,) filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him, 10 And said, O full of all subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord? 11 And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately there fell on him a mist and a darkness; and he went about seeking some to lead him by the hand.
- Hebrews 13:9 “Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein. Know God, know peace. Amen. 05-05-2020 BLL
