Peace be Still

Peace Be Still-

Brother James Cleveland has composed a poem fitting to be presented to today's suffers and we who are threatened by the corona-virus pandemic and deteriorating morality in the world. It may not put forth the exact word of God but it inspires, uplifts and renders hope at a time hope seems so weak and far away. Presented here for enlightenment and uplifting are a few opening lines of his poem:
Peace be Still By: Rev. James Cleveland

Master, the tempest is raging
The billows are tossing high
The sky is o'er shadowed with blackness
No shelter or help is nigh

Carest Thou not that we perish?
How canst Thou lie asleep
When each moment so madly is threatening
A grave in the angry deep?
The winds and the waves shall obey my will, peace be still
Whether the wrath of the storm-tossed sea
Or demons or men or whatever it be
No water can swallow the ship where lies
The Master of ocean and earth and skies
They shall sweetly obey my will
Peace be still, peace be still.
They all shall sweetly obey my will, peace, peace be still
Master, with anguish of spirit
I bow in my grief today
The depths of my sad heart are troubled
Oh, waken and save, I pray
Torrents of sin and of anguish
Sweep o'er my sinking soul
And I perish, I perish, dear Master
Oh, hasten and take control...

Mark 4:37 “A And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. 38 And he (Jesus) was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? 39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. 40 And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?”

Philippians 4:9 “Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.”
Romans 14:17 “For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.”
Many storms will encroach upon us as we pass through our earthly existence. Some are fordable but a fer are formidable chilling to the very bone and driving us to striving. Jesus said to the storm: “Peace be still” and calm stilled troubled waters. Call on Him if you know him and stand; wait on the Lord.. Peace will come. Know God, know peace. Amen. 05-24–2020 bll
