God's Love

God’s Love

Jenesis 1:26-27 “And God said, Let vs make man in our Image, after our likenesse: and let them haue dominion ouer the fish of the sea, and ouer the foule of the aire, and ouer the cattell, and ouer all the earth, and ouer euery creeping thing that creepeth vpon the earth. 27 So God created man in his owne Image, in the Image of God created hee him; male and female created hee them. (KJV 1611)

When God spoke of “US” in the plural, to whom was He talking? He was speaking from all three tenses; past, present and future. Let us make man in our Image, after our likeness was not a fluke of the recorders pen when writing Genesis. God was speaking from Love to Love. God is love and Love is the mortar that binds intelligent beings together with each other and with God. At this point in the creation, only a few things had been named as individuals. From Genesis 1:1 up to this statement of let us make man, only a few things were called by a name. Adam would eventually have the responsibility of naming everything. These things were spoken of by a name: [heauen, and the earth, darkenesse, water, light, day, night, euening and morning, firmamen, place, land, seas, grasse, herbes, fruit, tree, dayes and yeeres, starres, whales, cattell, fish, and then man]

With no pryor reference to draw from, why did they choose “Man” to represent the top level of earthly creations. Certainly, man had dominion over all the earth. No other name would have carried that distinction. Man is an adult human male. Man was created in the likeness of God as to the perfection of his nature which is total love, Man was molded from dirt into knowledge ( Colossians 3:10 “And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of Him that created him; righteousness and holiness (Ephesians 4:23-24 “And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; 24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.[LOVE] and as having dominion over all the inferior creatures (Genesis 1:28). He had in his original state God's law [LOVE] written on his heart, and had power to obey it, and yet was capable of disobeying, being left to the freedom of his own will.

The choice made by man was to shun God and follow after the desires of their own heart. But, God so loved the world that he sent his only begotten son to die for man’s choice to go their own way. Any who would believe upon Him and His sacrifice could be saved from themselves. Love divided love and melted the cement between Gods and suffered loss that man might reunite with them in love. Now, good men reunite with LOVE in love. We who know God in the free pardon of sin love one another as we love ourselves. In God’s love we are one with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit; even with one another. Amen. 05/04/21 BLL
