FootPrints, Hoof Prints
John Wayne was not much of a tracker but he became a duke by acting as though he were. Imagine tracking a native American wearing moccasins and concealing paths across hard rock. Tracking a beast with hooves is likely to be far more successful. However, where they lead is uncertain for a beast has no conscience. It goes where it wishes and sometimes lays a false trail to conceal its domicile. A domicile is relevant to an individual's "personal preference" which includes the desire to protect a person's status and their property. Humankind is not alone in this endeavor. God’s creatures possess a desire to survive and are secure. Although a domicile may change from time to time, the living has only one domicile, or residence, at any one time; no matter what their circumstances. Domicile is distinct from habitual visitation, where there is less focus on future reward.
One could say that status of existence such as residing in Christ Jesus or Satan's lyre is a chosen domicile with future intent or with total disregard. To find an eternal domicile of security and everlasting life, one must follow the footprints left by Jesus as he laid spiritual markers for us to follow. His tracks are not concealed. He wants us to find his domicile. That domicile is eternal and never changing; it is heaven.
On the other hand, the hoofprint of “Old Slew Foot”, is laid with intent to deceive and entrap. The trail that he lays for his chosen followers will lead them farther than they wanted to go and keep them longer than they want to stay. Damnation and destruction is Satan’s promise to those who choose to follow him. His trails end is not obvious and is carefully designed to lead to his domicile, hell.
All choose to follow a path that seems to offers something desirable.
Joshua 24:15 “And if it seems evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve;...but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” (Deuteronomy 30:19) “I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: (Luke 9:23) “And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.”
Matthew 11:28 “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Know God, know peace. Amen. 05/12/21 BLL
