One Moment
ONE
MOMENT
In
one’s youth, life seems to stretch on endlessly. Minds attuned to
enjoyment of the pleasures at hand, care little concerning things in
the far, far away future. Death is only a word and life hereafter
smirked away casually. Trying to introduce them to the Christian
concept of eternal life is a struggle in futility. Theirs is not a
firm rejection of reality but a condition of maturity. Time will seen
to accelerate as they mature in wisdom and knowledge and appear to
speed on toward death. The closer the general times comes the more
quickly the moments turn to seconds. Some then seek the face of God.
Some still rebel and sadly many continue living the “good life.”
Christians don’t be surprised if this group does not fear COVID-19
and rush to you for instructions on coming to Christ. Fear is a tool
Satan presses onto God’s people and not his own. Press on. Reach as
many as possible. Figuratively or in reality only a moment remains.
- 1 Corinthians 13:11 “When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.”
- Luke 2:42 “And when he (JESUS) was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast. 43 And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not of it. 44 But they, supposing him to have been in the company, went a day's journey; and they sought him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance. 45 And when they found him not, they turned back again to Jerusalem, seeking him. 46 And it came to pass, that after three days they found him (Jesus) in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions.
- 2 Peter 1:5 “And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;”
- 1 Corinthians 15:34 “Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God:”
- 2 Peter 3:18 “But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.” Know God, know peace. 06-30-2020 BLL
