Slipping Awy
Slipping
Away
There
are many accounts in the north lands of ice walkers and ice fishers
who misjudge the thickness of the ice. As a result the ice breaks way
beneath their weight and they plunge into the frigid waters below.
Often alone and miles from dry land, they emerge only to flounder in
a desperate but futile attempt to claw their way back to solid ice.
Rarely, if ever, is this accomplished. Their ordeal is short lived.
Within a matter of minutes hypothermia numbs their thinking process
and they slowly slip away beneath the cold water into the deep
darkness below. As team leader for the Underwater Investigative Unit
for the Sullivan County, Tennessee Sheriff’s Office, I can tell you
a truth. If properly prepared, outfitted and mentally ready, the
under water world is a wonderful experience. As one slips away into
the watery world, troubles left above, become less worrisome, the
body relaxes and the weightless journey soothes the soul.
When
trials of this life tax us to near insanity and we fear loss, we must
put on a full outfit of spiritual reinforcement. We receive, from
God’s book of instructions, exactly what is needed. We must not let
these truths slip away; especially in face of world wide pandemics,
rioting and looting.
- Hebrews 2:1 “Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.
Revelation 2:25 “But that which ye have already hold fast till I come.
- Hebrews 10:23 “Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering;...”
- Revelation 3:11 “Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.” 2 Thessalonians 2:15 “Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught,...”
- Hebrews 3:14 “For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;”
- 1 Timothy 6:12 “Fight the good fight of faith hold on to eternal life,...”
- 1 Thessalonians 5:18 “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”
Fully
dress for your Christian experience
knowing His instructions, preparing His dress and slip not away from
the truth.
In Ephesians Chapter 6 our protective clothing is listed for us.
Dress accordingly and slip not away. Verses:
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be
able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14
Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having
on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the
preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield
of faith,...”
17
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which
is the word of God:”
Know
God, know peace. Amen 06-03-2020 BLL
