These Things
THESE
THINGS
On
a bench in a public park, a lady sat with head bowed, Her outward
appearance was as of one in prayer. It seemed odd that a jogger would
pause in mid flight to talk to God, She was in fact not. Inside she
was a seething pot of turmoil. The patch on her forehead denoted her
recent participation in a violent protest. Her lower face mask spoke
of her fear of some deadly disease. Her hunkered down body, spirit
and soul bespoke of one contemplating self annihilation. Things had
gotten bad in her world and life. Every breath taken was a sob of
despair and defeat. Unrest had overtaken her. This could describe
many in our world toady. At a simple glance there is seen trouble on
every hand.
My
younger brother, W. M. Lawson, Jr; “Bill” wrote these words a few
years back. “As I walked an old dirt road I met a man bent beneath
a heavy load, to him I spoke, Lad your choice of roads are many,
it’s daft to choose this one.
He
raised his face and looking through the mask I thought I had,
replied; “better outward than inward sad.”
Corona
virus, rioting and latent fear of the unknown has many bowed down in
defeat. Bow in power instead of defeat. Look to God for safe keeping.
What has he had written unto us.
Philippians 4:5 “Let
your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is
at hand. 6 Be
careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication
with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the
peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts
and minds through Christ Jesus.

Finally,
brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are
honest, whatsoever things are
just, whatsoever things are
pure, whatsoever things are
lovely, whatsoever things are
of good report; if there
be
any virtue, and if there
be
any praise, think on these things.
9 Those
things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen
in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

Corinthians 13:4 Charity
suffereth long, and
is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not
puffed up, 5 Doth
not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own,
is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; 6
Rejoiceth
not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; 7 Beareth
all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all
things.
8
Charity
never faileth: but whether there
be
prophecies, they shall fail; whether there
be
tongues, they shall cease; whether there
be
knowledge, it shall vanish away. 9
For
we know in part, and we prophesy in part. 10 But
when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall
be done away.
John 14:1 “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
Philippians
4:20 Now unto God and our Father be
glory for ever and ever. Amen. Know
God, know peace. 06-92-2020 BLL
