Day by day...the Wayfarer

Day by day

2 Corinthians 4:16
King James Version (KJV)
16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.

"What good does it do in my daily life to read the scriptures, pray, and acknowledge God to those around me while that life goes on with all the problems and considerations that create the worry of living day by day, day to day, paycheck to paycheck, hand to mouth with no end in sight?"

This, and other questions from those facing far worse than the meager worries mentioned, sickness, familial concerns seemingly overwhelming, persecution, character assassination, dealing with the dependency created by addictions of every stripe are heard daily, only to go unanswered for too many, and answers given unheard and unheeded by far too many more.

The questions go unanswered, because they are questions posed  by the outward man in need of renewal of the inner man, without which there is no renewal, no hope in sight for that outward man.

Paul's writings reflect the constant and consistent need of that renewal that comes only through the renewal provided by answers given... heard in FAITH of the renewal given by Christ Jesus alone.

There is no magic formula, no self help book to procure immediate answer and deliverance from the day to day interactions with all around us, that creates worrisome circumstance for the outward man, unless and until the inward man is renewed allowing the outward man to both see and comprehend that renewal, that then is projected in the form of that outward man despite those things that continue to assault him.

It is through the "outward man", and the answers perceived only by that "outward man",  that the ongoing lies driving his "life" demand the surrender of the "inward man"... the eternal soul inhabiting a temporal body.

,
Each new day in the existence experienced by the outward man brings new challenges, new temptations, and renewed discouragement, that may only be overcome by the inward man spoken of by Paul.

The most faithful are often the most prone to the attack that occurs daily, far too often wondering, "Why bother?"

Galatians 6:9
King James Version (KJV)
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

Weariness, bone weariness, is certain to set in when we faint within the necessity to feed the inward man the bread of life that is the only sustenance available to refresh and renew the required strength of the inward man.

That renewal does not remove the challenges that face each, but grants the strength required to overcome those challenges despite their looming large before the path of the outward man, the strength to endure despite those challenges in the certainty of the state of existence to be experienced by the inward man.

Matthew 24:13
King James Version (KJV)
13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
..
That endurance remains available only through having heard the warning, as given throughout the scriptures, and having heard and accepted the promise as well delivered in the Personage of the Son of God, Christ Jesus, without which there cannot be renewal of the inward man.

John 14:6
King James Version (KJV)
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

The promise remains available through the renewal, through Faith, that provides more than adequate rest for the weariness  that besets all... once the inward man accepts both warning and promise that has been delivered, when the inward man accepts the rest that is provided despite the weariness that can only be as temporary as the outward man's prevalence allowed through his subjection of that inner man.

2 Timothy 1:12
King James Version (KJV)
12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

Amen and Amen
