He that hath an Ear

Revelation 2:1-7King James Version (KJV)
Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks;
I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars:
And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name's sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted.
Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.
But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitanes, which I also hate.
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

How easy it is to become ensnarled by the inconsequential, preordained disputation and deviation from purpose intended, forgetting the importance and consequence of the very purpose intended to be followed as given us by the same Savior speaking these words to the Church at Ephesus, intended for the ears of ALL willing to hear throughout the centuries since written down by a beloved disciple entrusted to pass both promise and warning of what is also preordained to come to fruition.

The first love, not to be deserted, not to be abandoned, not to be neglected despite the inconsequential actions and intent of men, must ever remain the love of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and the love for the souls of our fellow men destined for an eternity either in the presence of that same Father, Son and Holy Spirit, or in complete absence of the ability to bask in that presence, wallowing in the depths of abandonment and punishment chosen by themselves.

Petty intrusions are magnified in significance making division ever greater, ever more intrusive despite the meaninglessness contained within them when placed alongside the looming importance of the eternal as opposed to the temporary and temporal.

As attention is focused on the divisions, it is taken from the unity of purpose demanded by that "First Love".

The admonition given to each of the churches addressed by Jesus  demanded attention be directed  beyond the moment, beyond the failures noted, beyond the accomplishment already achieved to the continuing requirement of repentance for redemption.

The time draws ever nearer that that simple message delivered from the Jordan River to the cross, and beyond the cross as John was given the Revelation of the preordained end of the inconsequential and the beginning of the all important and most consequential of all, will no longer be heard, and those unwilling to hear it, while available, face what is preordained and determined for them by that same unwillingness to hear.

Amos 8:10-14
King James Version (KJV)
10 And I will turn your feasts into mourning, and all your songs into lamentation; and I will bring up sackcloth upon all loins, and baldness upon every head; and I will make it as the mourning of an only son, and the end thereof as a bitter day.
11 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord:
12 And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, and shall not find it.
13 In that day shall the fair virgins and young men faint for thirst.
14 They that swear by the sin of Samaria, and say, Thy god, O Dan, liveth; and, The manner of Beersheba liveth; even they shall fall, and never rise up again.

No matter the greatness or wealth of nation or individual, that greatness and wealth will be found wanting and insufficient as the greatness and wealth ignored is seen  in the perspective of an eternity that awaits each soul either holding that wealth given through the sacrifice of Christ Jesus, or holding the poverty of their own "sufficiency".

We can choose to become ensnared in the affairs of no consequence that we do not control, and will never be able to control, or we can choose to endeavor to remember that required "FIRST LOVE" and the consequence for all who forget it.

Revelation 3:11
11Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

We can remind those who unwillingly, and unwittingly are ensnared in the forgetfulness of that LOVE, refreshing  the souls reminded, who are willing to hear, or we can ignore the need of that refreshing.

2 Timothy 1:12
King James Version (KJV)
12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

Amen and Amen
