Walking in the Will

Walking in the Will
James Four 9:17

9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.
10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
11 Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.
12 There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?
13 Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:
14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
15 For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.
16 But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil.
17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

When we continue yielding to temptations to Sin, the devil will continually follow us; tempting. But, if we put on the whole armor of God, and resist any acknowledgment of him, he will leave us alone for a season. Be sure that He will return as your confidence in salvation grows and a life’s crisis befalls you. Sinners should then submit to God, and seek his grace and favor. Once his child they must resist the wiles of the devil. All sin must be recognized, spoken to god and be forgiven of God. We will all do it here, in a Godly contrite spirit, or else, hereafter, in eternal flames of the burning lake of fire. And the Lord will not refuse to comfort one who really mourns for sin, or to exalt one who humbles himself before him. Nor will He pull them out of sin “by the bootstraps”. Each must recognize their sin and talk with God about their salvation. Christians are not exempt.
Our lips must be governed by the law of kindness, as well as truth and justice toward all. Christians are spiritual brothers and sisters. And to break God's commands, is to speak evil of them, and to judge them, as if they laid too great a restraint upon us. We have the law of God, which is a rule to all; let us not presume to set up our own notions and opinions as a rule to those about us, and let us be careful that we be not condemned of the Lord.
Mark 12:38 And he said unto them in his doctrine, Beware of the scribes, which love to go in long clothing, and love salutations in the marketplaces, “
John 14:23 “Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words (commandments): and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.”
Song of Solomon 4:10 “How fair is thy love, my sister, my spouse! how much better is thy love than wine! and the smell of thine ointments than all spices!
Mark 12:33 “And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.”
"Go to now," is a call to all to consider their conduct as being inappropriate in God’s thinking. How apt worldly and contriving men are to leave God out of their plans! It is vanity beyond measure to look for any thing good without God's blessing and guidance! The frailty, shortness, and uncertainty of life, ought to cause one to pause before beginning all projects for future completion. So short, temporal, and swiftly fading of human life, and all the prosperity or enjoyment that attends it is “endurith but for a season.” While bliss or joy for ever must be according to our conduct during this fleeting moment we call life. We are commanded to always depend on the will of God. Our living times are not in our own hands, but at the disposal of God. Our thoughts may be centered on cares and contrivances for ourselves, or our families, or our friends; but Providence often throws a wrench in the clogs of our plans. Our every undertaking, no matter how frivolous it seems, should be with submissive dependence on God. It is foolish, and it is hurtful, to boast of worldly things and aspiring projects; it will bring great disappointment, and will prove destruction in the end. Omissions are sins which will be brought into judgment, as well as commissions. If we were as careful not to omit prayer, and not to neglect to meditate and examine our consciences, as we are not to commit gross outward vices against light! How pleased would God be; how great our reward. Know God, know peace. Amen. 11-12-2019 BLL
