Living Water

LIVING WATER
ASSORTED VERSES AS SHOWN

John 4:7 There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink. 9 Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans. John 4:10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water. John 4:11 The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water? 1The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water? John 4:12 Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle? 13 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: 14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. 15 The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw.
John 7:38
He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
John 4:14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
Jeremiah 2:13 For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water. .

1 John 5:6
This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.
Jesus applied himself more to preaching as did Paul. This was the more excellent ministry than tending to baptising. 1St. Co 1:15-18; 15 Lest any should say that I had baptized in mine own name. 16 And I baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I know not whether I baptized any other. 17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. 18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. However Jesus would bestow honor upon his disciples, by assigning them to baptize. He teaches us that the benefit of sacraments depends not on the hand that administers them. In baptizing and taking of sacraments, it is not the responsibility nor the Sainthood of the administrator of such to qualify the participant. It is the responsibility of those who wish to be baptized to ensure have the living water flowing in their veins. The water into which one is dipped during baptism is not the living water but it signifies unto all present of the living water that’s flowing in the veins of those being baptized according to God’s commandment. Without the blood of Jesus within, the running water without has no effect on the condition of the soul within. A dirty sinning soul seeking and accepting baptism will go down into the water filthy and arise unchanged. A clean heart and a clean life is required before a person qualifies, before God, to represent His death, burial and Resurrection in baptism. It borders on blasphemy to partake of an act signifying Christ’s sacrifice and be unfit to do so.

Jesus was a poor man as to wealth, and went all his journeys on foot. Being wearied, he sat one day on the well. Sitting there was free. He sat thus, as people wearied with traveling would sit. However, Jesus had an ulterior motive. Christ waited for a woman he knew was coming to draw water. He had something to offer her. It was something that He makes available to all who will ask and receive. She came and he asked her for a drink water.
13 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: 14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life
Jesus Christ took the occasion to teach this sinner Divine things: he converted this woman, by showing her ignorance and sinfulness, and her need of a Savior. By this living water is meant the Holy Spirit. This comparison, shows us, the need for living water flowing within us. We need the Blood of Jesus in the form of the Holy Spirit in our bodies. Then and only then are we suitable, before God, to be dipped in cold water that signifies the warm Living Water flowing within.

Christ showed us that the water earthly water of Jacob's well yielded a very short satisfaction. Of whatever earthly waters for comfort we may drink, we shall thirst again. But whoever partakes of the Spirit of Grace, and the comforts of the Word, shall never want that which will abundantly satisfy any soul. how closely our Lord Jesus brings home the conviction to her conscience! He severely reproved her present state of living in sis as adultery and fornication. His Word is the key in searching our heart, and convincing the conscience of secret things known and secret. Just think, the things we are striving about are passing away. The spirit or the soul of man, as influenced by the Holy Spirit, must worship God, and have communion with him. Spiritual affections, as shown in fervent prayers, supplications, and thanksgivings, form the worship of an upright heart, in which God delights and is glorified. Only then can baptism and communion be accomplished properly. No past sins can bar our acceptance with him, if we humble ourselves before him, believing in him as the Christ; The only begotten son of God. Know God, know peace Amen 11-26-1920 BLL
