Eternal Life

Eternal Life: 16 Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.
17 Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen. (First Timothy chapter one)

Apostle Paul (Saul), a zealous persecutor of Christians, knew that he would justly have perished, if the Lord had been stern in holding in account his life before conversion. Also, if his grace and mercy had not been abundant toward Saul when he was dead in sin and putting Christians into bondage then standing by consenting to their slather, surly would have snatched him up for the burning. He allowed a man who would be a base stone in the new covenant to live a cruel and wasted life. This was the only course he could or would take to God’s calling. God kept him in close contact with lovers of Jesus. Once he saw the light on the road to Damascus after watching the stoning of Steven, faith and love of Christ began in his heart.

We have here a true and impacting saying. Paul declares that these principles of Godly living can be depended upon. He wants us to understand that he isn’t just filling up space with shallow print. He stresses that these are true and faithful words. Here we read words of a truth that we can follow after to gain eternal life. This is Paul’s statement of the road to salvation: The Son of God came into the world, willingly and purposely to save sinners. No person, with Paul's example before them, can question the love and power of Christ to save them. If they really desire to trust in him as the Son of God, who once died on the cross, and now reigns upon the throne of glory. He is King of King and Lord of Lords and he calls all who will come to Him to “COME.” He waits patiently to save all who will come with a contrite spirit, professing their sins and asking forgiveness in His name. Let us then admire and praise the grace of God our Savior; and believe in the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, three Persons in the unity of the Godhead, the glory of all done in, by, and for us. He is soon droping His shield for sinners who will not know Him. He is soon coming! Know God, know peace. Amen. 11-20-1920 BLL
