Guidance Systems

John 13:35 KJV
35By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
Strange title for the opening verse? Not really, since the topic is guidance rather than misguidance!
There is much talk today, as so often in the past about guidance systems and their abilities to seek out and find a target, no matter how distant no matter how seemingly well protected that target may be.
Guidance systems govern airplanes, trains, and in fact are in use for most mass transit capabilities of nations all around the world.
They are counted on for effectiveness and for safety, and when they fail, tragedy ensues.
These "systems" also are used in the effort to "explore space".
Most recognizably and most unfortunately they are also employed as weapons of war.
The search for improvement in them has led to the advent of "intercontinental ballistic missiles", guided rockets intended to deliver massive destruction and death anywhere in the world at any time.
And the search for their improvement continues endlessly, each one more effective than the last, promising pinpoint accuracy, each dependent on fallible men using the extent of their fallible knowledge making each fallible as well despite all promises made, as that fallibility is inherent in a fallible creature!.
These, however, despite the importance ascribed to them, are far less dangerous than the guidance systems of those building them.
It is those guidance systems that spurred the necessity of reminder that there is an infallible guidance system in place that needs no improvement, can never be improved, and that if properly followed dismisses the falsity of all other guidance systems for the man made systems that have failed continually, bringing often, unintended consequence of the same destruction on grand scale that dwarfs the ability of even the "guided" missiles.
Like those missiles, only vehicles for what is contained within them, so too is this far more fragile, far more fallible vessel that is the physical, carnal man.
Over centuries, many guidance systems have been employed by that vessel that were the invention of that same vessel.
When God set the universe in motion, He employed an infallible guidance system that applied universally and that has not, nor shall ever. fail to accomplish its original intent.
When the breath of life was breathed into man, that guidance system was in place for his use, if he chose to use it rather than ignore it and "fly by the seat of his pants".
With each new addition to the family of Adam, that same "guidance system" has been made available for use despite the refusal to recognize its existence by the large majority of that family.
That guidance system was so important that it was delivered, time and again to those rejecting it, the final delivery being made in the very person of Christ Jesus, the living and breathing Son of God.
A maintenance manual for that system was delivered through the personage of Moses, and all the prophets prior to Christ, then brought continually up to date through the writings of the apostles.
That manual remains in existence, remains equally effective as when first inscribed, but remains only effective to those choosing to use it!
Proverbs 22:6 KJV
6Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
The effectiveness of that manual demands that it be passed down, generation to generation until the intended target, God's intended target for man has been reached.
That intended target has not changed any more than the guidance system developed to assure the arrival on that target...Eternal LIFE!
The only flaws in that guidance system are the edits and deletions that have been added and subtracted by the fallible men attempting to change the direction given, and result only in missing the target altogether.
Acceptance of that precious "guidance system" demands acceptance of the deliverer, acceptance of the fact that without using that manual delivered, we are merely unguided vehicles traversing hither and fro until all chance of guidance is exhausted as is the fuel of physical life.
Fireworks that brightly light the skies on a darkened evening, once completing their ascribed purpose, burn no more and leave only the remnants of their empty vessels carrying the load to be burned, with all the useless paraphanalia left behind
Fireworks are at best, unguided.
Men have guidance available, if willing to accept that guidance.
It is found, in totality, only through Christ Jesus, without aberration, edit or deletion.
It begins within the message He brought of redemption through repentance, and is completed by the commandment left by him that gives evidence of the acceptance of that message.
2 Timothy 1:12King James Version (KJV)
12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.
Amen and Amen
