Peace of Mind
Peace
of Mind
Ephesians
Chapter Six
2
Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world,
according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now
worketh in the children of disobedience:
3
Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the
lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the
mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
7
That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his
grace in his
kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
Christ
hath raised us
up together, and made us
sit together in heavenly places.
In
Christ Jesus We
find peace of mind through
the knowledge of great
and mighty things
to come and even now are.
The
riches of God's Grace
towards us,
and the happiness
and piece of mind God’s
Divine Grace
makes in us,
cannot
be annulled by mortals.
The Ephesians were
seeking peace of mind; just as are we. The Children of God also seek
the privileges and blessings found
in
the
gospel. Those
who are
dead in trespasses and sins have
no desire for spiritual pleasures. They
seek peace where there is no peace. Worldly pleasures bring peace
only for a moment in time then some life’s tragedy sweeps it away
with sorrows. When
we look upon a corpse, it produces
an awful feeling. A never-dying spirit is now fled, and has left
nothing but the ruins of a lump
of clay.
But if we viewed things God’s
way,
we should be far more affected by the thought of a dead soul, a lost,
fallen spirit, having
no peace.
A state of sin is a state of conformity to this world in
which peace of mind is smothered by wicked
men that
are
slaves to Satan. Satan is the author of that proud, carnal
disposition which there is in ungodly men; he rules in the hearts of
men. From Scripture we
learn that
people
have been drawn
to sensual wickedness. All
flesh,
being naturally children of disobedience, are also by nature children
of wrath. Where
wrath
abides there is no peace of mind. True happiness and peace of mind
are to be discovered within
that Grace
which will make us
children of God and heirs of glory! God's eternal love or good-will
toward his creatures, is the fountain whence all his mercies flow to
us; and that love of God is great love, and that mercy is rich mercy.
Great
peace of mind settles
quietly
upon troubled souls as the Holy Spirit strengthens
understanding. And
every converted sinner is a saved sinner; delivered from the
sadness of sin
and wrath. The grace that saves is the free, undeserved goodness and
favor
of God; and he saves, not by our
good works,
but through faith in Christ Jesus. Children
of promise
live a life of holiness and
pappiness and peace of mind.
Joy
comes from,
being delivered from the guilt of sin, by pardoning and justifying
Grace.
Sinners roll themselves in the dust of
sorrow while
sanctified souls sit in heavenly places. We
Christians
are raised above this world, by Christ's grace and
through our Lord we have peace of mind. Know God, know peace. Amen.
