From the Dark Side

From the Dark Side

The sun was going down as a small boy of seven years journeyed into the ridges behind his country home. His assignment was to find and drive home a single cow. She was a contrary critter that did not like the milking. She would hide and her bell would remain silent as she stood “stock” still. Of the four hollows, the forth was situated in a fashion that, early in the day, the rays of the sun ceased to light its steep walls. The dark side of the vale was ominous and foreboding. Naturally, that is where the elusive cow would hide. The little fellow was scared of what the dark recesses concealed. The old heifer would crouch under a dense cedar thicket and stand her ground until prodded out with flying rock or a long pole. Then the chase was on toward the milking gap. Quite often, as they ran, the boy glanced behind them. Frightened by what he might see put wind in his sails. Gathering in the cows for the evening milking was a chore that he dreaded. He well knew he would end up on the dark side of the mountain.

Matthew 6:22 “The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. 23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!”

John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”

John 1:5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.”

John 12:35 Then Jesus said unto them,… Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.”
1 Corinthians 13:12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.” (2 Corinthians 4:6) For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.”
Luke 1:78 “Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us, 79 To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace. (1 Thessalonians 5:5)Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.”
Ephesians 6:12 “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Know God, know peace. Amen. 12/30/2020
