HYPOCRITES

Hypocrites

A young man stood over his aging mom to give her a parting hug. As he straightened, she spoke. The dialog went something like this: “Son, how are you? I’m fine Mom. No Son, I mean how is it with you and God? Well, I’m better than most of those Hippocrates up at church.” I’m sure it broke her heart. She was a sweet lady and life long believer. She did not know his sins but she knew his fruit or lack of fruit. Sleep did not come easy for that young man that night. His bed had been salted with the truth and his sheet shortened by guilt. Those chilling words played over and over in a mind unable to rest. Morning found found him on his knees crying and pleading with God for forgiveness and reinstatement into His Grace. God is merciful. That moment the lad was renewed and endowed with eternal life. He set his feet on the narrow way to heaven. He became one of the few that will find that path. Jesus is the way.

Hypocrite is a person who pretends to have virtues, moral or religious beliefs, principles, etc., that he or she does not actually possess, especially a person whose actions belie stated beliefs.” (dictionary.com)

Matthew 7:5 “Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

Matthew 15:7 “Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying, 8This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with theirlips; but their heart is far from me. 9But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.”

Matthew 22:18 But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites?”

Job 8:13 So are the paths of all that forget God; and the hypocrite's hope shall perish:”

Matthew 24:48 “But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; 49And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken; 50The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, 51And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

We who are pure in heart and follow God’s commandments without variance, shall inherit eternal life in New Jerusalem. Pretend not in the least. Know God, know peace. Amen. 12-01-2020 BLL
