Day Star

Day Star

In my youth, I heard the appearing of Planet Venus in the western sky referred to as the evening star. Other daylight appearances as “morning stars.” Stars that appear to “come out’ at night are present in the sky all day long. The brilliance of the sum’s glow overshadows their glimmering presence. Drop into a well deep enough to block the sunlight and looking upward you will view what appears to be a night sky. There are billions of stars in the heavens. Some form shapes that scientists have identified and named over the centuries. Some appear to cluster into groups and some seem to be loaners. God created them all and did not simply sprinkle them around in outer space. Each has a purpose. Each is under the direct control of His mighty power. He gave them all names; as he did us. He knows their number. They, as do all things, function for His honor and glory. Humankind is no different in this respect. We serve him; shining our light brightly. However, the glorious light of the Day Star, His son, dims our light in His eyes. He has numbered us. Yet we cluster into groups and shapes often contrary to His will. Only by shining through Jesus can He appreciate our efforts to please Him. He gave His son to make a way for us to come to Him. We should come and often.

Genesis 1:16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.”

2 Peter 1:19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:”
Psalms 147:3 He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds. 4 He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.”
Daniel 12:3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.”
Revelation 22:16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.”
Matthew 2:10 (Remember) When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.” (Matthew 2:2) “Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.”
Matthew 2:9 “...lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was.”
It is the Star of God that leads us. Know God, know peace. Amen 12/21/20 BLL
