First Love
First Love
Time and again I have heard the expression “you never forget your first love. I have found this to be true in my life. I suppose you have experienced the same in yours as well. Many people will walk through your life and leave marks; some good, some not so good. Our experiences, good or bad, shape our outlook on our walk through life on earth. Some reach beyond the boundaries of death into the great beyond. Often we do not know the love another has for us and more often never learn of its existence. Being told does not always produce acceptance of that love. But, there is a love everlasting and by most seldom recognized and accepted.
- Romans 5:8 “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Revelation 3:19) “As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.” (Romans 8:28) “...we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
- 1 John 4:16 “And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. 17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. (19) We love him, because he first loved us. 20 ...he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?”
- Matthew 22:37 “Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”
- John 14:23 “...If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him….” (Matthew 24:12) “...because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.”
- 1 John 4:16 “And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.” ( Hebrews 13:1) “Let brotherly love
- continue.” Know God, know peace. Amen 12/18/20 BLL
