Wells of Water
WELLS
OF WATER
As
of a few minutes ago, numerous news sources reported the cause of the
fear of many. Believers in Christ Jesus need not be afraid. Sensible
precautions must be taken to combat COVID-19 because many have
faltered: Total confirmed cases (Various news sources): total
reported world wide is 2,494,915
with 171,249 fatal cases. Many had drunk of the living water and will
never die. Some did not, I suppose, and were dead already. We can all
live through Christ’s Spirit; the living water of life. Moses in
the wilderness faced the wrath of a thirsty people. To them and to us
God spoke through Moses:
Exodus
15:26-27 26 And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of
the Lord
thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give
ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none
of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians:
for I am
the LORD that healeth thee.“And
they came to Elim, where were twelve wells of water, and threescore
and ten palm trees: and they encamped there by the waters.”
- In a desert parched dry and desolate, God led the repentant pilgrims from Egypt, His chosen to an oasis of rest. Wells carried a significant importance in those days of desert travel and they endured as time passed from the pilgrimage of people of old into the time of Jesus. Some even until now.
- John 14: 7 “There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink. 9 “...How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans. 10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.11 The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water? 12 Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle? 13 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: 14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
- 2 Peter 1 and 2: 1:19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: 20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. (2 Peter 2): 14 Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children: 15 Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness; 16 But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man's voice forbad the madness of the prophet. 17 These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever.
- It does not have to be so. John Revelator writes of our hope as Christ spoke it to him:
- Revelation 21:6 “And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. (Revelation 22:17 ) “And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.”

Peter 5: 14 Greet ye one another with a kiss of charity. Peace be
with you all that are in Christ Jesus. Amen. Know God, know peace.
