THE LORD’S WILL
“Our
father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come thy
will be done...” Thus we pray always but is our heart and soul in
our prayers. Often times we pray amiss and God will not answer. The
key is to know God’s will in so much as is possible and do it. We
obtain his will in prayer and through a knowledge of His Word. Pray
always and study to show yourself approves is the trait of a prayer
warrior who brings results.
Not
all things that we as earthlings and individuals is the will of God.
Still we appear to attribute all contrary situations of life to His
willful doing. He gave us a free will to do and act as we so choose
and He wills that we choose to serve Him and glorify his name in
worship. Yet, too often those called by His name chose a different
course on a magnitude necessitating heavenly intervention. He
chastens those whom He loves and calls children. His wrath spills
upon the mass of the ungodly. The just suffers with the unjust until
we are taken away. God is willing, until the time of sorrows, to hear
us and our na tions. We make the choice, not Got. We cause or we
allow it to be so. It is our doing.
Genesis
3: 11
And he said, Who told thee that thou wast
naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that
thou shouldest not eat? 12 And the man said, The woman whom thou
gavest to
be
with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat. 13 And the LORD God
said unto the woman, What is
this that
thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I
did eat… 16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy
sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children;
and thy desire shall
be
to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee. 17 And unto Adam he
said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and
hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt
not eat of it: cursed is
the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of
it all the days of thy life;
Nothing
that happened
in the garden in those last
few days was God’s will. However His will came into play, as it
always does, when His creation goes too far astray of His purpose
and plan. He
fixed the problem.
Genesis
6: 5
And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was
great in the earth, and that
every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was
only evil continually. 6
And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it
grieved him at his heart. Genesis
6: 13 “And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before
me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold,
I will destroy them with the earth….” 17 And, behold, I, even I,
do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh,
wherein is
the breath of life, from under heaven; and
every thing that is
in the earth shall die. 18 But with thee will I establish my
covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and
thy wife, and thy sons' wives with thee...and
they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive,
and they that were
with him in the ark.”
Certainly
the world had totally gone astray of what God willed it to be. He
fixed the problem. Later in Sodom evil and disgusting acts displeased
God.
.
God’s
will was for a world of love. Humankind had become all that God
hates. He fixed the problem.
(Genesis
6):
5 And
the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children
of men builded.
6 And
the LORD said, Behold, the people is
one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and
now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to
do. 7 Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that
they may not understand one another's speech. 8 So the LORD scattered
them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left
off to build the city. 8 So the LORD scattered them abroad from
thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the
city. 9 Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD
did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did
the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.
Noah
had obeyed Gods plan to replenish the earth but his
sons
came
to the plains of Shinar and saw the possibility of wealth to be had.
He settled with his people there and began to build a city that would
be desirable and attract others. Also, in the city he began to build
a tower so tall that all could see it and be drawn to it; “a tower
to reach the heavens.” This was not the act or will of
God. He fixed the situation. God’s
will was that scatter.
Their will was to clump there in the plains; God fixed the problem.
20
And
the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and
because their sin is very grievous;
21
I
will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according
to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know. 22
And
the men turned their faces from thence, and went toward Sodom: but
Abraham stood yet before the LORD. 23
And
Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous
with the wicked?
Now
we know the options God gave Abraham to find righteousness
within the city. None were found save Lot. God spared only him and
his family
except
his wife who desired Sodom over God.
Genesis
19: 25
And
he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants
of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground. 26
But
his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of
salt. 27And
Abraham gat up early in the morning to the place where he stood
before the LORD: 28
And
he looked toward Sodom and Gomorrah, and toward all the land of the
plain, and beheld, and, lo, the smoke of the country went up as the
smoke of a furnace.
It
was not the will of God that Sodom be destroyed. He wanted love and
righteousness from them. They chose to serve the devil and eat of his
evil; every one. God fixed the problem. When the world people go so
far astray as to disgust God, His wrath is kindled because His will
is not being practiced. Know this one thing: God will fix the
problem. Know God, know peace. Amen. 03-16-2020 BLL
