The Babbling
THE
BABBLING
Nestled
securely into a dugout section of one of the hills of South West
Virginia, squats a small cottage of long endurance. Nearby babbles a
small brook singing its sweet melody as it spills and tumbles over
rock and across dams both natural and man made. Soothing both to the
ear and soul, its melody reaches up to the “prayer tower” erected
above it. The tower stands attached to the cottage, not a tower to
heaven rather unto God. In this quaint and isolated setting one rests
untouched by COVID-19. Corona passes by because the spiritual blood
has been applied to the lentils. Holy family members deliver
necessities to the door as needed. Satisfied to weather the storm in
the arms of God, inhabitants hunker down and wait, pray and worship
our Lord. Such is not so in a world gone astray. Babble, protests and
blind denial profits nothing.
Genesis
11:6
“And
the LORD said, Behold, the people is
one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and
now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to
do. 7
Go
to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may
not understand one another's speech. 8
So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all
the earth: and they left off to build the city. 9
Therefore is the name of it called Babel;”
Proverbs
23:29 “Who
hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling?
who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes? 30 They that
tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek mixed wine. 31 Look not
thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the
cup, when
it moveth itself aright. 32 At the last it biteth like a serpent, and
stingeth like an adder.”
Sometimes
it is necessary for God to place His own in less than desirable
conditions to preserve their life and soul. Be content therefore in
waiting. Rejoice in the day the Lord hath made. It shall pass for a
season.

Kings 17:3 1
“And
Elijah the Tishbite, who
was
of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As
the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not
be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word. 2
And
the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, 3
Get
thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook
Cherith, that is
before Jordan.
4
And
it shall be, that
thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to
feed thee there. 5
So
he went and did according unto the word of the LORD: for he went and
dwelt by the brook Cherith, that is
before Jordan. 6
And
the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and
flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook.”
God’s
Grace is sufficient in all situations. Faith is necessary. Wait on
the Lord.

Timothy 6:20
“O
Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane
and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called: (2
Timothy 2:16)
“But
shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more
ungodliness.”
John
3 “16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that
whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting
life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the
world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that
believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is
condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the
only begotten Son of God.”
Psalms 23:4 1(A Psalm of David.) The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me...”
- Still waters sings no song but breeds contentment. As the pool of Bethesda maintained status quo until it stirred, so does the Spirit of God. Stir up God’s Glory. Know God, know peace. Amen. 04-25-2020 BLL
