Away

AWAY

Away I a manger no crib for His bed, the little Lord Jesus lay down His sweet head” Around the last of December we hear this Carole being sung in honor of the arrival of Jesus on the earth. The story revealed is the beginning of the taking away the sins of the world. Thirty some years later He would begin a ministry that would change the face of society forever. (John 1:29)The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.”
Jesus taught many things; too many to be listed. Concerning demonic possession by humans, he cast out both small and large,
2 Timothy 3:6 “For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
He set straight and fulfilled the Mosaic law. ie.
Hebrews 10:11 “And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:”
Jesus healed the sick, caused the blind to see, opened the ears of the deaf, made the lame to walk and raised the dead.
John 11: 41 “When they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me... 43 And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. 44 And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with grave clothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.”
And many other things did Jesus do both great and small. His disruption of the establishment that “worshiped God” led to the final completion of His earthly mission for us. He taught: (John 14): 1 “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”
Because of His miracles and His teachings He was Arrested and suffered a mock trial and was crucified but on the third day, as He said, He arose again.
(Matthew 27:28) “And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe.” They took away his earth clothes and mocked him with a cloak of royalty. (John 19:2)And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on his head, and they put on him a purple robe, (John 19:5)Then came Jesus forth, wearing the crown of thorns, and the purple robe. And Pilate saith unto them, Behold the man!
Matthew 27:31 “And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him, and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify him.”
He died as he hung there on the cross having taken our sins upon His battered solders: Joseph, a member of the Jewish counsel, burred Jesus in his own grave. Soldiers sealed the tomb with a heavy stone. Jesus lacked proper anointing with spices and lay three days until the sabbath was finished; fulfillment of scriptures.
Matthew 27:66 “So they went, and made the sepulchre sure, sealing the stone, and setting a watch.” (Matthew 28 “And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.” (Mark 16:3)And they said among themselves, Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre? (Mark 16:4) “And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was very great.
Jesus had arisen from the dead just as he said He would. He visited with the disciples and was seen by thousands before going to the base of Mt. Olive from which he ascended back to the right hand of God to become one with Him forever. A crowd gathered to witness His departure.
Acts 1:10 “And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; 11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.”
Even now we are looking into the eastern sky hoping for His soon return. Know God, know peace. Amen. 04-10-2020 BLL
