Infinity
Infinity
Star eyed is a term once commonly used by country folks to indicate someone was not in the game but lost is star gazing. It was not a complement. There is truth to be found in the stars, God’s universe. If people looked into the heavens more often, they’d live quite a bit more Godly. When you look into infinity, especially when your “bell tolls,” You see Heaven’s glory in a much different perspective. For the first time, you truly realize that there are more important things than life with its drives and desires. Looking into an open grave with no headstone, as yet, makes eternity real to the one to whom the summons has come.
Looking through old notebooks of Mom, Ruby Lawson, who has long had her headstone and rests with our Lord, I discovered a poem that deserves notice:
I know you are waiting filled with pain
that comes from your children seeking only gain.
I see the families all broken apart;
I feel the pain that fills your heart.
I know your anger (will) soon comes from above
And I know they only are in need of your love.
Give us endurance, please let mercy still flow;
Give us the strength to praise as we go.
Keep the few united; don’t let us forget
Fill us with joy instead of regret.
Lead us to mercy, lead us to love.
Lead us Dear Father to your sweet home above.
And when we get there let us take feed
As you fill all our wishes and fill all our needs.
Know God, know peace. Amen
