Impressing God

Impress God

Age and diseases take an adverse development on our bodies. The soul and spirit can be affected as well. The mindset resisting spiritual atrophy is dedication to impressing God; not by service but by extreme loyalty. Following John Baptist example: we must decrease and press all increase toward God. We must be a shadow of true humbly presented to increase God’s glorious shining. Christians have been born into a new life with directions to deny self and carry their assigned cross while following Jesus Christ our Lord. The “Big I” cannot please God. Striving to gain notice, praise or personal gain thwarts all efforts to impress God. Remember, we must live for God, and not for human approval. If our motivation for our actions is the approval of others, every achievement will be hollow and temporary. However, if we dedicate our best efforts to God in whatever we do in our work, in our service, in our giving, and in our witness, we impress God. Pleasing God yields magnificent returns. Work as if door to life was closing; it is.

Colossians 3:23 says, “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.”

James 4:17Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.”
Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
2 Corinthians 13:5Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?”

2 Timothy 4:5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. 6 For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. 7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: 8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

Know God, know peace. Amen. 04/14/21 BLL
