Needing a Friend
Needing a Friend
An old hymn, “Needing a friend to save me in the end; where could I go but to the Lord,” is very inspirational. When all things seem to be collapsing around us and we rush here and there seeking relief and safety, the Lord is often overlooked as the source of peace, health and security. Long sleepless nights come. Days filled with frantic application of sim-useful methods of consolation. Sickness prevail within out tiny space and death too often is the closure for some. Family and friends from arms reach attempt to give comfort and aid. Fear drives them further and further away as the pandemics grow to out of all known limits. Brains on fire from lack of oxygen and knowledge of pending death inflame the very soul of isolated patients. Families, forbidden visitation, set weeping in their automobiles in hospital parking lots. Fear wracks their very being. Sometimes they awaken from their stupor in time to turn to God; the great physician. Therein peace is to be found.
Philippians 4:7 “And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
Mark 5:34 “And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.”
Luke
1:78
“Through
the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath
visited us, 79
To
give light to them that sit in darkness and in the
shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.”
John
14:27 “Peace I
leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world
giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let
it be afraid.
- John 16:33 “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
- Romans 5:1 “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ”
- Romans 15:13 “Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.”
-
Romans
15:33 “Now
the God of peace be with you all. Amen.
There is no better way. Jesus is not a “stand off” friend. He will cradle your soul in His loving arms and rock you from turmoil into the peace you seek. Know God, know peace. 10-12-2020 BLL
