The Sacrifice
The Offering
Two criminal investigators stared onto an altar covered with blood. Centered in the basement of an old abandoned house located far away in the deep forest, it sat out of public view. Reports of devil worship and/or witchcraft had been reported occurring there. Graffiti displayed on the walls and floor confirmed some level of anti-Christian activity was being practiced there. Implements of the ocult littered the place. It did not appear to be the work of teens or casual users. It was a hotbed of ceremonial sacrifices. Whether seeking to please God or some other entity, I cannot say. Certainly some “Christian believers” had visited the site and left their mark. If they only realized that animal sacrifices will not increase ones status in hell and certainly not heaven. Christ does not recognize a sacrifice made for sin after one becomes a Christian. It is not necessary.
- 1 Corinthians 10:20 “But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: ...”
- Matthew 9:13 “But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice:...”
- Hebrews 10:1”For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.”
- Hebrews 10:26 “For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,”
- Romans 12:1 “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.”
Hebrews 9:22 "And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
23 It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.
24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:
25 Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others;
26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself...
- (BLL) [If God had not initiated, through Moses, animal sacrifice the Lord Jesus would have to have been continually sacrificed over and over down through the ages.]
Hebrews 9:26 “For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.”
Hebrews
10:12 “But
this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for
ever, sat down on the right hand of God;”
Hebrews 13:15
“By
him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God
continually...”
- Hebrews 13:16 “But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.” Know God, know peace. Amen. 10-19-2020 BLL
