20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
"Bought with a price!" A price so great that no man could ever pay it despite all the riches, glory, acclamation and honor attained in many lifetimes.
That price was and is the very blood of the Son of God Himself.
Of all the things held dear to mankind, a price is paid for its attainment, that price, all too often has come with the shedding of blood.
Throughout the history of this miserable creature, he has made decision of the worth of those things he holds dear, and determined their worth in the blood of others and his own.
Each and every skirmish of each and every battle of each and every war that has been fought has been determined by the worth of its outcome despite the cost in that blood.
The cost of taking a city, taking a precious piece of real estate, taking a single hill in a vast area surrounded by others like it has come at a price of that blood.
The price of liberty or enslavement has always been and remains that same price, as nothing else has ever sufficed, or will ever suffice.
Kings, dictators, leaders of every stripe have had to make the determination of the cost that must be counted in order to reach some transient and changing goal, that cost coming in the blood of his own people and those of others.
How many lives is it worth?
This same principal has been constant in peace as well, the cost of lives and blood that have been paid for the wealth of this world.
Mines operating to eke out the minerals and metals treasured by men each and all come with that price.
Each reward that is sought by men continues to demand that price.
For some the value of that blood and that life is cheaply valued, evidenced in the monetary gain to be had by provision of arms to those willing to use them for their own monetary gain, without regard of the price to be paid in blood for that gain.
Drugs flow across borders, in return guns and ammunition to protect those drugs flow in opposite direction as blind eyes are turned to the lives lost though the flow in both directions.
Nations stand off against each other in ever greater proliferation of greater weapons and the power that is thought to be held by their ownership and willingness to use them to pay the price of what is being sought.
Life itself is the currency being paid for man's "worthy" causes.
Somewhere along the way, the worth of that life, each life, has been forgotten and ignored though the greed of this paltry creature, pursuing goals he alone holds dear.
The worth of that LIFE has never lost its preeminence of worth to the CREATOR of that life.
The dictates of that worth were given man in a garden long ago when that Creator gave warning to him that he ignored and continues to ignore.
It was that CREATOR that also provided the price being paid to have that LIFE. It was HE who provided the WAY and the absolute TRUTH of that WAY to attain the value of that LIFE, for which there is no equivalent worth that may be held by any man without recognition of that worth.
Still, this creature hurtles ever faster and farther away from that worth as he pursues the things he holds more valuable, until he himself faces the ultimate price of the loss of that Life.
Mankind should consider the cost of his "valuables".
The price to each and every one of the members of his race was established when that WAY was given, when the TRUTH of that Way was spoken, and the VALUE of that LIFE was paid by the ONE speaking that simple TRUTH still being ignored.
"REPENT! for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."
