There Is Power In The Blood...the Wayfarer 9/12/16
There Is Power In The Blood
Philippians 4:13
King James Version (KJV)
13 I can do all things
through Christ which strengtheneth me.
This precious
verse used in opening is a reminder of wherein any strength is to be found by a
Christian, or any claiming to be a Christian people.
There is a
power that exists within that exceeds and overcomes all stumbling blocks, all
trials, all failures, all setbacks as perceived by man when that power is
tapped into and allowed to surface from within and show through the trappings
of the physical and spiritual weakness that is the nature of that being.
1 John 4:4
King James Version (KJV)
4 Ye are of God, little
children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he
that is in the world.
That power
to overcome is not derived from self. It
exists only though FAITH, that faith again not in self but in HIM and in the
power given HIM passed to us by HIM, not any other human being, or the
recognized conference of power by means of position, diploma, degree,
affiliation or association.
That power
exists in the TRUTH of what has been done on our behalf by no one less than the
Son of God, Who holds all power, and without Whom all other power becomes
powerless.
There is
but one WAY to attain that power, power of LIFE, but one WAY to overcome the
powerlessness of the creature who thought to take power for himself, and
continues to fail to recognize the reality of that true power available, by
refusing the simple concept that allows that power to exist…redemption given
for repentance… that repentance given to the holder of that power, Jesus
Christ, Son of God, Savior of man, NOT Man himself.
There Is Power
In The Blood
Would you be free from your burden of sin?
There's power in the blood, power in the blood
Would you o'er evil the victory win?
There's wonderful power in the blood
There's power in the blood, power in the blood
Would you o'er evil the victory win?
There's wonderful power in the blood
Would you be whiter, much whiter than snow?
There's power in the blood, power in the blood
Sin stains are lost in its life-giving flow
There's wonderful power in the blood

Songwriters: . DP, TODD A. SMITH, ALLAN HALL, NICOL JUNE RENEE SMITH
The song used as
title is one quite familiar to me, one often heard around the homes of both
parents and grandparents, heard in the assemblies of the majority of churches
attended from youth to the present.
The content of
the song held, and holds importance to the very reason of those assemblies,
importance to the people gathered there who recognized and those who still
recognize where power is derived from to live this life, and to seize the prize
that awaits its end as well.
That recognition
extends to the realization that that power is GIVEN, not taken, accepted, not
to be rejected, an entitlement, yet an entitlement only for those who meet the
requirements of that simple message preached by Christ Jesus from the Jordan to
the cross and beyond.
Ephesians 2:8-10
King James Version (KJV)
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of
yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good
works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them
It is that grace alone that confers
that power on and to us, and that acceptance of grace through faith that allows
us to continue in that power despite all attempts to stymie and deny it.
Isaiah 54:17
King James Version (KJV)
17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and
every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This
is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me,
saith the Lord.
This promise given through Isaiah
came to fruition though Christ Jesus, who overcame not only the world, but
death itself to provide the absolute power of LIFE eternal to those willing to
accept His simple message, and the single commandment given us by HIM.
It is needy that recognition return
to wherein that power exists, wherein the ability to overcome exists, and that
that power, that perfect grace given remains sufficient in this age and time
when so many find only the powerlessness of the contrivances of man, and the
despair of that powerlessness.
Ephesians 6:10-24 KJV
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power
of his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand
against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against
principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this
world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may
be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and
having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of
peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be
able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the
Spirit, which is the word of God:
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the
Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all
saints;
19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may
open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,
20 For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may
speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
21 But that ye also may know my affairs, and how I do, Tychicus,
a beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, shall make known to you
all things:
22 Whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that ye might
know our affairs, and that he might comfort your hearts.
23 Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the
Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
24 Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in
sincerity. Amen.
There is power in the blood! That
power has been delivered to each willing to accept it through the grace given
us by God.
2 Timothy 1:12 King James Version (KJV)
12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.
Amen and Amen
