Whispering Hope
 10/7/16

Luke 12:32 KJV
32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
Hope is whispered daily, constantly, through the voice of Christ to all who would listen to that precious whisper amid the cacophony that surrounds us.
It is that hope, provided only through faith, that presents the calm and certainty that must guide us in times of trial and seeming calamity that attempt to steal that hope, attempt to redirect attention to the current moment, the current problems, and current dangers that are faced, instead of focusing on the singular solution to each of those things.
Fear and the abandonment of that faith obscure the discernment of the solutions being provided as those solutions are sought elsewhere, sought in the wisdom and ability of man to provide them instead of turning to the real solution that is not temporary, does not lead to even more consternation, deeper quagmires that can only increase the dangers, and the helplessness that comes along with them.

Hebrews 11:1-10
King James Version (KJV)
11 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
For by it the elders obtained a good report.
Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.
By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.
By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:
10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

Each and all of the forefathers mentioned in the 11th chapter of Hebrews had one thing in common, that commonality being faith, the faith that provided and still provides the hope necessary to endure the things faced, and arrive at the destination intended for them by God.
Had that faith been abandoned, the hope could not exist and the same remains true today. Hope remains in the faith held that the Creator is in charge and capable of delivering on the promise, that promise being eternal life that has been granted through the coming of Christ Jesus, His life, ministry, substitutional sacrifice for us, and His resurrection and ascension to mediate for those who meet the simple requirements set forth in His message given us.
There is no depth of desperation, no depth of sorrow, no depth of pain, no depth of sin that creates those things that may overcome, or override that promise made, if faith is given in Him, in Who He IS and Who He REMAINS, and the power that is His alone to deliver the promise made through Him.

Jeremiah 29:11King James Version (KJV)
11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
There is no addiction, no misery, no heartbreak, no physical ailment, no setback, no failure of any kind that cannot be overcome through faith in Christ and listening to the hope that whispers so softly to us, still able to be heard above the raucous assault and barrage of the surrounding noise that would attempt to silence it.
Whispering Hope

Soft as the voice of an angel,
Breathing a lesson unheard,
Hope with a gentle persuasion
Whispers her comforting word:
Wait till the darkness is over,
Wait till the tempest is done,
Hope for the sunshine tomorrow,
After the shower is gone.

Whispering hope, oh how welcome thy voice,
Making my heart in its sorrow rejoice.

If, in the dusk of the twilight,
Dim be the region afar,
Will not the deepening darkness
Brighten the glimmering star?
Then when the night is upon us,
Why should the heart sink away?
When the dark midnight is over,
Watch for the breaking of day.

Whispering hope, oh how welcome thy voice,
Making my heart in its sorrow rejoice.

Hope, as an anchor so steadfast,
Rends the dark veil for the soul,
Whither the Master has entered,
Robbing the grave of its goal.
Come then, O come, glad fruition,
Come to my sad weary heart;
Come, O Thou blest hope of glory,
Never, O never depart.

Whispering hope, oh how welcome thy voice,
Making my heart in its sorrow rejoice.

Despite the troubled times that are upon us, and those that remain yet to come, within each life, the hope that is whispered is there and recognizable, a source of surety and a source of comfort, the only source of solution that is certain to get us past those minor inconveniences that may seem so major when faith is forgotten, but may be viewed in context when that faith is remembered and renewed by listening to that precious whisper, and responding to it with all the more hope that can be had only through that faith.

 Luke 21:21-28
King James Version (KJV)
21 Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.
22 For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.
23 But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.
24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
It is that redemption that is whispered through faith that gives the hope and the absolute certainty that allows the endurance of the moment, attaining the promise of eternity.
2 Timothy 1:12King James Version (KJV)
12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day

Amen and Amen
