The Sower Soweth the

Mark 4:11-32 King James Version (KJV)
11 And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the
kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in
parables:
12 That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear,
and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins
should be forgiven them.
13 And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye
know all parables?
14 The sower soweth the word.
15 And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they
have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in
their hearts.
16 And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when
they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness;
17 And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward,
when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they
are offended.
18 And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word,
19 And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the
lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.
20 And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word,
and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an
hundred.
21 And he said unto them, Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or
under a bed? and not to be set on a candlestick?
22 For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any
thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad.
23 If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.
24 And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete,
it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given.
25 For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him
shall be taken even that which he hath.
26 And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into
the ground;
27 And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and
grow up, he knoweth not how.
28 For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the
ear, after that the full corn in the ear.
29 But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the
sickle, because the harvest is come.
30 And he said, Whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God? or with what
comparison shall we compare it?
31 It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth,
is less than all the seeds that be in the earth:
32 But when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs,
and shooteth out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under
the shadow of it.
The Sower has sown the word. It has
been sown unsparingly throughout the world in preparation for a harvest yet to
come.
It has faced, and still faces the
stony ground spoken of by Christ in this parable given us by him.
Despite that stony ground, despite
the drought that has dried the root of so many of its precious plants, there
still remains a harvest to be reaped. Despite the thorns that daily attempt to
choke out that word, it remains viable and vibrant for those whose roots are
deep enough to drink from the precious water that has also lovingly been given
it for its growth.
Those roots are established by the
plant itself, growing ever deeper as the drought increases and so many starve
for lack of the nutrition provided by a world that would nourish the thorns and
tares that also grow so profusely among it.
Without the ever deepening of those
roots, the fruit to be harvested cannot grow, cannot bear for the harvester the
expected plethora of grain, and cannot be counted worthy of addition to the
granary once the harvest is complete.
Matthew 3:1-12
King James Version (KJV)
3 In those days
came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea,
2 And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
3 For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The
voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his
paths straight.
4 And the same John had his raiment of camel's hair, and a leathern girdle
about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey.
5 Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region round
about Jordan,
6 And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins.
7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism,
he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the
wrath to come?
8 Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:
9 And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father:
for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto
Abraham.
10 And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every
tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance. but he that cometh after
me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize
you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:
12 Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and
gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with
unquenchable fire.
As the thorns and tares grow so
abundantly about us, it is imperative that the roots be sent ever deeper… into
the WORD, and that what is sown by us come with the same prerequisite
nourishment that was given us by Christ Jesus.
What is sown will also be that which
is reaped during the harvest.
Care must be taken that the gospel
being preached be the gospel given us by Christ, rather than the prosperity
gospel substituted for it by men that has no root, and cannot endure the
drought.
Each word that is given us in that
gospel provided by HIM grants the sustenance needed to complete the growth to
its maturity.
Each word rejected for other
sustenance provided by man is only herbicide intended to prevent that very
growth and the required maturity when the harvest is completed.
The time is come to reject that
herbicide and accept the truth of the WORD, to prepare for the purging that
comes with the harvest.
Revelation
22 King James Version (KJV)
22 And he shewed
me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the
throne of God and of the Lamb.
2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was
there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her
fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the
nations.
3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb
shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:
4 And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.
5 And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light
of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever
and ever.
6 And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord
God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things
which must shortly be done.
7 Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the
prophecy of this book.
8 And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and
seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these
things.
9 Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant,
and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this
book: worship God.
10 And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book:
for the time is at hand.
11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let
him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and
he that is holy, let him be holy still.
12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man
according as his work shall be.
13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to
the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and
idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.
16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the
churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning
star.
17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say,
Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the
water of life freely.
18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of
this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the
plagues that are written in this book:
19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this
prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the
holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even
so, come, Lord Jesus.
21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
Tares and thorns must remain tares
and thorns, yet still there remains wheat to be harvested, and it is that wheat
alone that will accept the required nourishment, enduring the drought,
flourishing despite that drought that is upon us.
2 Timothy 1:12 King James Version (KJV)
12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day
Even so, come quickly Lord Jesus!
Amen and Amen
