Therefore did my heart Rejoice 11/22/16 “Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope.” (Acts 2:26) Here we find Peter quoting the 16 th Psalm as he spoke on the day of the Pentecost.  As the apostles spoke to all about them of Christ, and what had just transpired through the gifts of the Holy Spirit, they were accused of drunkenness, incoherence by those who simply had no desire to hear the words they spoke. Peter reminded them of the words spoken in the book of Joel, promising the outpouring of that Spirit, Promising prophecy, visions and dreams, and most importantly that outpouring of Spirit that brings with it the wonders and signs that foretell the coming of the day of the Lord. He reminds them of that promise also that who so ever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. He then goes on to remind them that Jesus stood among them as a man...

The Blood is still There...the Wayfarer 6/23/16

The Blood is still There 6/23/16 Exodus 12:23 King James Version (KJV) 23  For the Lord will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the Lord will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you. Every child attending Sunday school, Vacation Bible School, and various church services has heard, or will hear at some point the history of the Jewish Exodus from Egypt. It is a history culminating in t...

The Last End of the Indignation...the Wayfarer 9/22/16

The Last End of the Indignation 9/22/16 Daniel 8:17-19 King James Version (KJV) 17  So he came near where I stood: and when he came, I was afraid, and fell upon my face: but he said unto me, Understand, O son of man: for at the time of the end shall be the vision. 18  Now as he was speaking with me, I was in a deep sleep on my face toward the ground: but he touched me, and set me upright. 19  And he said, Behold, I will make thee know what shall be in the last end of the indignation: for at the time appointed the end shall be. Indignation is a state that appears to encompass the nation in which I have resided, for the most part, throughout my life, and the remainder of the world at large as well. That indignation generates anger and spurs retaliation for the cause of that indignation, both real and imagined. Indignity is, itself, generated by things that are perceived as slight by some, atrocity by others leading to call for vengea...
