Ye Have not Inclined Your Ear
8/11/14
"I have sent also unto you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them saying, Return ye now every man from his evil way, and amend your doings, and go not after other gods to serve them, and ye shall dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers: but ye have not inclined your ear, nor hearkened unto me.
(Jeremiah 35:15)
Those who have listened to the Word of God have always been few, and grow fewer in number and percentage constantly as time continues its consistent and continuous countdown toward the end of each life that has been given, toward the judgment of each soul that is born with the ability to choose to hear and heed that word or to ignore and deny it.
Truth is far more difficult to accept than platitude, and misleading falsehood that readily is taken for granted by the majority as being the reality of life.
Just as instruction refused, is instruction lost, in the universities and institutions of learning that no longer teach what was once learned and left as lessons in favor of what is being taught that ignores those very lessons, replacing them with the pipedreams that have failed from their inception to ever create the promised positive results wished for; so too is the proven instruction left by those who taught, and the few continuing to teach the Power and Promise, not that given by man in all its various deviant forms, but that of God, His plan, His complete Love and the simple means of attaining that Love.
Just as each experiment with "progressive new methods" inherently fail, lessons repeated in the failure of those same methods and teachings continue to produce the same results produced by them over and over as no hearing nor heeding takes place to the reality of the Truth.
"Therefore thus saith the Lord God of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold I will bring upon Judah and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem all the evil that I have pronounced against them: because I have spoken against them: because I have spoken unto them, but they have not heard; and I have called unto them,, but they have not answered."
(Jeremiah 35:17)
A commonly accepted, and often quoted definition of insanity is simply doing the same things over and over with the expectation that the results will change somehow with the repetition of the same actions that failed to produce the desired results the first time, and continue to fail constantly, yet being surprised at that failure.
Scientific experiment requires documentation of each action and reaction contained in that experiment until the end of that experiment, and decision is then given as to its effect and meaning for future reference... this much is recognized and accepted as being a truth that is used regularly and constantly when looking for cures to disease, and in the attempt to improve on existing methods of those cures:

Yet the disease of sin recognizes no results of its past, insanely repeating all mistakes despite recorded results both in others and in the lives of those repeating those mistakes, as well as in societies that refuse to accept the documented failures of the past while repeating the mistakes made that led only to misery and destitution and eventual destruction of other societies.
"Therefore go thou, and read in the roll, which thou hast written from my mouth, the words of the Lord in the ears of the people in the Lord's house upon the fasting day: and also thou shalt read them in the ears of all Judah that come out of their cities.
It may be they will present their supplication before the Lord, and will return every one from his evil way: for great is the anger and the fury that the Lord hath pronounced against this people."
(Jeremiah 36:6 & 7)
Lessons have been given for the edification and salvation of God's people time and time again.
The same requirement for redemption through repentance has been given throughout the ages since the fall of Adam from the grace of God by his refusal to incline his ear and hearken to the single commandment given him in the garden that resulted in imperfection and death replacing the intended perfection and eternity of life  that was the gift of his Creator in exchange for simple obedience.
That requirement has never changed, will not change, and the results of failing to give that required repentance will never change despite the insanity of the teachings of men that make the promises of that change.
"I charge thee therefore  before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers having itching ears;
And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables."
(2  Timothy 4:1-4)
That Word is still being preached, rebuke and exhortation to the truth is still being given, and is still the ears are inclined away from that Word, hearkened to by far too few as sound doctrine is replaced by those refusing to honor the simplicity of what has been given us!

"Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord:

And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, and they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord and shall not find it.

They that swear by the sin of Samaria, and say, Thy god O Dan, liveth; and the manner of Beersheba liveth; even they shall fall and never rise up again.
(Amos 8:11-14)

"Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.

Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent."
(Revelation 2:4 &5)

Even so, come quickly, Lord Jesus!

Warning has been adequately given.

Evidence of the consequences of ignoring that warning is apparent to all willing to examine the past, both their own and that of mankind in general.

The promise given alongside that waning remains as adequate now as it was when given, as it must and shall as mankind continues to search for any and all other ways, pursuing the same insanity that has driven man since Eve first believed and propagated the lie given her.

Until the final day that this lie stands, it is the duty and privilege of all who have received the promise to assure that it is given to all that remain still reachable, still teachable, still salvageable.

Salvation continues to be given only through Christ, His shed blood, His substitutional death for each member of this stubborn race called man.

Redemption in return for repentance remains available to any willing to hear and believe the message delivered so long ago, still being delivered today, tomorrow and for eternity.

2 Timothy 1:12 King James Version (KJV)

12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.
Amen and Amen
