Shall a Trumpet be Blown
 8/27/14

"Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people now be afraid?  shall there be evil in a city, and the Lord hath not done it?
Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secrets unto his servants the prophets."
(Amos 3:6 &7)

As the warning trumpet is sounded, the revelations of the prophets from long ago come to fruition, where is the fear that would instill the hearts of the people to comprehend and take action to appease the One True God, to delay the judgment that has already been passed on this creature called man?

Where is the wisdom to understand the words of those prophets, and the simple requirement spoken by all of them summed up in the most concise way by the greatest Prophet ever to have been sent, One sent to provide the means to meet that requirement simplifying the message to a few meager words:
"Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!"

Words spoken by the very Son of God giving both warning and promise, given evidence, and proven, time and again throughout the ministry, miracles, compassion, and warning of wrath yet to come, given by the Lord of Lords, King of kings, that should be heeded, observed and adhered to and obeyed continue to go ignored and denied.

"Hear this word that the Lord hath spoken against you, O children of Israel, against the whole family which I brought up from the land of Egypt, saying,
You only have I known of all the families of the earth: therefore I will punish you for all your iniquities.
Can two walk together, except they be agreed?
Will a lion roar in the forest, when he hath no prey? will a young lion cry out of his den, if he have taken nothing?
Can a bird fall in a snare upon the earth, where no gin is for him? shall one take up a snare from the earth, and have taken nothing at all?
Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the Lord hath not done it?
Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth it unto his servants the prophets.
The lion hath roared, who will not fear? The Lord God hath spoken, who can but prophesy?
Publish in the palaces at Ashdod, and in the palaces in the land of Egypt, and say, Assemble yourselves upon the mountains of Samaria, and behold the great tumults in  the midst thereof, and the oppressed in the midst thereof.
For they know not to do right, saith the Lord, who store up violence and robbery in their palaces.
Therefore thus saith the Lord God; An adversary where shall be even round about the land; and he shall bring down thy strength from thee, and thy palaces shall be spoiled.
Thus saith the Lord; As the shepherd taketh out of the mouth of the lion two legs, or a piece of an ear; so shall the children of Israel be taken out that dwell in Samaria in the corner of a bed, and in Damascus in a couch.
Hear ye, and testify in the house of Jacob, saith the Lord God of hosts."
(Amos 3:1-13)

The lion has roared, yet the fear is nonexistent for those refusing to recognize the sound of that roar!
The minority, the remnant is persecuted, killed, and ignored as they are torn to bits and pieces by an adversary that has come, once again among the children of that same God.

They go unrecognized by even their own brethren, so self absorbed that they fail to hear the trumpet being sounded for themselves as well as those consumed by an adversary bent on the destruction of all but those worshipping a false God, following a false prophet, more rapidly and rabidly forcing the day that the final trumpet will be blown.
Yet wisdom goes unheeded!

"And the Lord said, wherefore unto shall I liken the men of this generation? and to what are they like?
They are like unto children sitting in the marketplace, and calling one to another, and saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned to you, and ye have not wept.
For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine; and ye say, He hath a devil.
The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of and sinners!
But wisdom is justified of all her children."
(Luke 7:31-35)

"Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; and the  knowledge of the holy is understanding."
(Proverbs 9: 9 & 10)

" And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in the heaven about the space of half an hour.
And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets.
And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.
And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand.
And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake.
And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound."
(Revelation 8:1-6)
"Behold, I come as a thief, Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame."
(Revelation 16:15)

Even so, come quickly, Lord Jesus.

2 Timothy 1:12 King James Version (KJV)

12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.
Amen and Amen
