Peace and Safety
7/25/14

"For wen they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape."
(1 Thessalonians 5:3)
Neville Chamberlain is probably most famous for having been duped into believing, and then announcing that "peace in our time" was to be the result of concessions given to the Hitler regieme while the horrors of war built from local pain experienced only by a few, to the crescendo that finally ended a war that killed millions of innocents.
Giving concession on the land already taken, on the deaths of those who had been in possession of that land, did not satisfy the lust of an evil that had the sole intent of dominating and changing the entire known world, elevating a "race" and its false history above the "subhuman" inhabitants of lands taken, justified by the supposed superiority of that "race".
In pursuit of that "superiority" cultures were changed and destroyed in as much as was possible, freedoms and rights abandoned for promises of peace and safety, prosperity, "leben's raum", room to live for those submitting themselves to the whims of a government totally in charge of every aspect of life concerning its citizens.
Among the most persecuted and most hated by this "superior" race that was to be established, were both Jews and Christians...God's people, seen as backward and less than human, unworthy of life, except as slaves so long as those slaves managed to stay alive and subservient to that "master race".
Peace and safety were forfeited for the plans of planners having no room in their ideology for the Omnipotence, and Omniscience of the true Master.
"But of the times and seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.
For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they  shall not escape.
But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
Ye are the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
For they that sleep, sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.
But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him."
(1 Thessalonians 1-10)
The world slept, reveling in debauchery and drunkenness, ignoring the plight of millions as concessions were made in false hope of "peace and safety".
History speaks for itself, as to the results of the grand plans of men during that time, lived through in not so distant past, within the memory of yet a few who remain awake.
"I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor anything taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.
That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past."
(Ecclesiastes 3:14 &15)
Man learns nothing from history, except that man learns nothing from history!
Complacence, apathy and greed continue to be the motivations that allow a world to slumber.
Once more the persecution and hatred of those wishing to be all powerful in the small fiefdom of a tiny planet in a grand universe created by the only true power comes to the fore as that slumber continues.
"Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.
But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.
Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.
Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?
Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.
Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.
But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;
And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;
The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,
And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth."
(Matthew 24:42-51)
Even so, come quickly, Lord Jesus,

2 Timothy 1:12-14 King James Version (KJV)

12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.
13 Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.
14 That good thing which was committed unto thee keep by the Holy Ghost which dwelleth in us.
Amen and Amen
