Somewhere

Somewhere

Somewhere the Son is shining bright.
Beside a Father who gave him to die;
And hid his face from the hideous sight.
Until he heard His surrendering sigh.

There was sadness in the upper room
As he prepared them for His awful day
He sat at sop and told them of gloom
Then walked to the Gadsden to pray.

Somewhere the book of life will show
The names of those who pierced His side.
Then all who sinned will surly know
For their sins, and ours, Jesus died.

Somewhere the birds are singing
As they dart here and there.
They are sheltered in His arms
And have not one care.

Somewhere a poor soul kneels praying;
Mind pressed back across the years.
To that sanctifying day on Mt. Calvary
And his eyes welled up with tears.

Somewhere in the crowd stood someone
Who’s love for Him was great
They heard His cry of submission
As He sailed through heavens gate.
