And He will Love Thee
6/29/14
6/29/14
“Wherefore it shall come to pass, if ye hearken unto these
judgments, and keep, and do them, that the Lord thy God shall keep unto thee
the covenant and the mercy which he sware unto thy fathers.
And he will love thee, and bless thee, and multiply thee: he will also bless the fruit of thy
womb, and the fruit of thy land, thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil, the
increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep, in the land which he sware
unto thy fathers to give thee.”
(Deuteronomy 7:12 & 13)
In the turmoil of the current times
and ever changing dangers that face an entire world, individuals often ask why
the blessings of the Lord are no longer so easily seen, why so much trouble
exists, and what can possibly be done from their powerless state as it is
perceived by them to be.
That sense of powerlessness in the
face of these dangers comes from the world and peoples who hold so much anger
and bring such despair, comes itself from having forgotten or ignored a basic
premise that we are not alone in the fight.
Forgotten is the promise found here
in Deuteronomy, and repeated continually throughout the pages of the scriptures
left us by Moses, the greater and lesser prophets, and that most singularly
left us by the Son of God, Christ Jesus, of the love of the Father, the mercies
of the Father, and the blessings to be given by the Father.
The reason the promise is forgotten,
is, simply put, the requirements for those blessings, mercies and that love.
Judgments long given are just ignored
and not harkened to. Commandments are not being kept or done, as the power of
the great and mighty God are trivialized by those claiming the power of their
own holding instead.
Forgotten, is, where that power held
actually derives from. Seemingly it decreases in the face of the power of
those most neglectful, most ignorant of, and most in denial of the simple
requirements needed to provide more than
adequate intercession and alliance with God Himself.
The requirements for God’s people to
resist the forces of evil are also trivialized, denigrated and substituted
constantly by promises of equality and justice as seen by men promoting their
own views of the perfection instead of the view of perfection as seen by the
only One who is perfect!
As the forces of false religion,
false prophets, false teachings insidiously worm their way into the fabric of
all societies, the perfection and blessings promised, grow more distant in the
minds of those who have forgotten the requirements set forth by God himself for
INDIVIDUALS
and the peoples of the nations that He so wants to provide that promised Love.
The power of men to resist the evil
around them is unequal to the task at hand without first seeking the protection
and provision promised by God, “If ye hearken to these judgments, and KEEP, and
DO them.”
“For thou art an holy people unto the Lord, thy God: the Lord
thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself above all people
that are upon the face of the earth.
The Lord did not set his love upon you, nor choose you,
because ye were more in number than any people: for ye were the fewest of all
people:
(Deuteronomy 7:7 & 8)
“For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared
to all men.
Teaching us that, denying ungodliness, and worldly lusts, we should
live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearance of
the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ;
Who gave himself for us that he might redeem us from all iniquity,
and purify unto himself a peculiar people zealous of good works.
(Titus 2:11-14)
Among the nations, among the peoples
of the world, those who truly keep and do the judgments and commandments
required of us, we remain, as we must, a peculiar people, fewest among all
peoples, and yet a people having far greater strength than any others about us!
“Thou shalt not be affrighted at them: for the Lord thy God
is among you, a mighty God and terrible.
And the Lord thy God will put out those nations before thee
little by little: thou mayest not consume them at once, lest the beasts of the
field increase upon thee.
But the Lord thy God shall deliver them unto thee, and shall
destroy them with a mighty destruction, until they be destroyed.
And he shall deliver their kings into thine hand, and thou
shalt destroy their name from under heaven: there shall no man be able to stand
before thee, until thou have destroyed them.”
(Deuteronomy 7:21-24)
Where is the weakness or
powerlessness of this promise?
It may only be found in the failure
to follow the requirements of the keeping and doing!
The grace of God, that appeared to all
men, was, and is, none less than the Son of God, Christ Jesus, who holds the power
of the universe, in heaven and on this present world as well!
“And Jesus came and spake unto them saying, All power is
given unto me in heaven and in earth.
Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in
the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded
you; and, lo I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
(Matthew 28:18-20)
“For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have
done to you.
Verily, verily, I say unto you, the servant is not greater
than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.
If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.
I speak not of you all: I know whom I have chosen: but that
the scripture may be fulfilled, he that eateth bread with me hath lifted up his
heel against me.
(John 13:15-18)
“By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye
have love one to another.”
(John 13: 35)
Just as a tree is recognized by the
fruit it bears, the subtle but distinct differences in foliage and height and
growth, just as the usefulness of those trees is judged by men, pruned and
cared for by men until that usefulness is no longer seen, God continually
prunes and fertilizes, and carefully chooses the ones that are productive, the
ones that keep and do.
The power remains in the keeping and
doing. It must begin at the beginning of the message left to:
“Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!”
And will not end until such time as
the judgment is seen to have been kept and done or ignored.
I remain, as always, your humble servant, and HIS,
simple sinner saved by grace, relying on the power and promise given through His
blood, an unfearing soldier, and destined for victory through His
Power, never any of my own, through His righteousness, having
none without Him.
2 Timothy 1:12 King James Version (KJV)
12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.
