“Woe unto you lawyers!”

“Woe unto you lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering, in ye hindered.”

(Luke 11:52)

No matter which language is used in giving the warning given by Christ to those who corrupted and perverted the law as it was given by God for their own purposes, that warning is clear and concise.

 Those same would be corrupters and preventers’ who intentionally perverted the law, are unfortunately still alive and well among us today, speaking many and varied languages, and teaching many and varied forms of their perversion of the gospel and the scriptures.

They consistently, and constantly, attempt to teach that the blessings given by God are available, but that sin is acceptable as well.

They are very much like the scribes, Pharisees and lawyers that Jesus upbraided for their false teachings, and falsity of action when claiming to be the representatives of the Father, whose intent and laws were crystal clear, and remain so to this day.

Christianity is under attack from all sides. It is under attack from without by false religions that refuse to even tolerate its existence, from governments that would supplant it with false teachings of the isms I speak often about, (Socialism, Communism, Atheism, and Progressivism to name but a few of them), that deny Christ and glorify man instead, and even from within by those corrupting and perverting the original teachings and commandments given us in scripture that is also crystal clear in any language in which it is written.

Close examination of any of these, religions, isms, or “new age” teachings will find that they all have one thing in common. They all deny Christ as savior and judge.

They each and all have various points that, on the surface, appear to be for the betterment of mankind. But each of them is concerned only with the body of that race, and not the immortal soul that inhabits that body.

Each of the false religions promote the attributes of their individual prophets, and the “vision” of those prophets, but again on close examination, each of them denies the history, and facts contained in the scriptures of our bible, the most important of which is redemption through repentance and belief in the Son of God sent to provide that redemption.

Each of the “isms” deny the existence of that soul inhabiting the body they claim to care so much about.

False teachers abound, and persecute vehemently those who choose to believe the Word of God, and who meet the requirement to proliferate that Word by giving others the same key to knowledge given to them, if it is only accepted, instead of ignored.

The passage from which I took the opening was the result of Christ accepting a dinner invitation from a Pharisee, whose self-righteousness so blinded him that he took offence at our Lord for not observing the letter of a law, not of God, but of man that had wormed its way into the teachings common to them at the time.

“And as he spake, a certain Pharisee besought him to dine with him: and he went in, and sat down to meat.

And when the Pharisee saw it, he marveled that he had not first washed before dinner.

And the Lord said unto him, Now do ye Pharisees make clean the outside of the cup and platter; but your inward part is full of ravening and wickedness.

Ye fools, did not he that made that which is without make that which is within also?

    But rather give alms of such things as ye have; and behold all things are clean unto you.

But woe unto you Pharisees! For ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and have the love of God; these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

Woe unto ye Pharisees! For ye love the uppermost seats in the synagogues, and greetings in the markets.

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For ye are as graves which appear not, and the men that walk over them are not aware of them.”

(Luke 11:37-44)

Those who give only the feel-good half-truths to those they teach, and who substitute the corrupted teachings of men for the teachings of God and Christ Jesus, are, like these scribes and Pharisees leading their followers to fall into an open and waiting, if hidden pit.

Jesus called them out for what they were, hypocrites, play actors, wanting the glory, and not taking the responsibility for what they taught, taking only the riches to be gleaned from their performance instead.

They insisted on the tithe and that those bringing it meet the requirements of the law, but themselves gave only what they considered as worthless to them to God himself, ignoring what was intended to be given, and ignoring what was intended to be received as well!

“Then answered one of the lawyers, and said unto him, master, thus saying, thou reproachest us also.

And he said , Woe unto you also, ye lawyers! For ye lade men with burdens grievous to be borne, and ye yourselves touch not the burdens with one of your fingers.

Woe unto you! For ye build the sepulchres of the prophets, and your fathers killed them.

Truly ye bear witness that ye allow the deeds of your fathers: for they indeed killed them, and ye build their sepulchres.

Therefore also said the wisdom of God, I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they shall slay and persecute:

That the blood of all the prophets which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation:

From the blood of Abel unto the blood of Zacharias, which perished between the alter and the temple: verily I say unto you, It shall be required of this generation.

All of the “scholars” who refuse to accept the scripture as given, as truth fall well within the definition given to those being warned by Christ.

All those adding their own unique twists and turns of phrase to justify that which is called sin by those scriptures , are merely parsing the language, and poorly so at that to attempt to make it fit their own lifestyle and immorality that is clearly visible when the light of the scriptures in its entirety is shined upon it, more palatable to a society  already too willing to accept abomination after abomination as being socially acceptable , and justified.

Some state that their teachings and the things they practice have been around since the beginning of time, and that mankind must therefore accept them as part of what was intended.

Murder has been around since Abel, as have all other sins been around since Adam and Eve first chose to disobey God. That very disobedience is what defines sin.

Just because sin has been here since the fall from grace by mankind in the garden, does not make it any more acceptable for its longevity than it was at the time it was first instituted.

Acceptance of any sin as the norm, and as inevitable by any individual denies God’s love for us and His ability to overcome that sin.

This in turn is a denial of Christ Jesus who was given as proof of that love, and who overcame that sin by His sacrifice for us, to complete the requirement of the blood demanded in return for that sin.

Denial of Christ, is, in turn, denial of the Holy Spirit, the guiding and comforting portion of the Godhead, which resides with us and tells us what is truly acceptable and what is not.

It is a denial of a soul that will exist in eternity, denied in turn by the entire Godhead because of its refusal to accept the TRUTH given, the Way to attain that TRUTH, and the Life that is promised only through that TRUTH!

Redemption through repentance, and a true belief in Jesus, God’s only begotten Son, and then following the teachings given us by that Son and His Father is the only thing in need of being taught to reach the goal intended for us from conception, and the only one to be wished for at the eventual death of the body containing that immortal soul given us by God.

Those teachings all the false religions, all the isms, all the new age philosophy, and all the ways around admitting sin as it is seen by God will answer with not only their own blood, but with their very soul.

Those who listen to them and accept those teachings will find the Judge determining that their guilt is equal with those who they listened to, and in accepting the things unacceptable to God, they chose to accept His wrath over His love.

Whatever language is spoken the choice of Truth or lie is given to all.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”

“Car Dieu a tant aime le monde, qu’il a donne son Fils unique, afin que quiconque croit en lui ne perisse point, mais qu’il ait la vie eternelle.”

I beg the forbearance of those who read the languages used, for the lack of proper accentuation  and for the usage of modern substitutes for letters used  originally  that this keyboard will not allow.

Again, the meaning of the promise is crystal clear, no matter what language used, no matter how badly spelled.

So is the warning and the requirement given equally clear in all languages that to attain that eternal life promised we must first:

“Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!”

“Tut Busse, denn das Himmelreich  ist nahe herbeigegekommen!”

“Repentez-vous, car le royaume des cieux est proche.”

Heed the warning, and accept the promise, no matter which language it is given in.

Lend your mind only to the teachings and tenants to be found in the TRUTH the Way and the LIFE through the only literature you need to research, our bible, not some man’s book, but God’s.

 Accept what you are told by that book, our owner’s manual, and reject that which it tells you to reject.  Never settle for a substitute version as given by the isms and their progeny.

I remain, as I must now be, and always have been, nothing more than a simple sinner saved by grace through faith in Christ Jesus, not in any ism or man-made substitute that others would force on me.

I remain also a loyal and dedicated soldier committed to the battle I was called into by Him so long ago for those still reachable and teachable who do not yet belong to the isms, or their progenitor, the father of lies.

I serve willingly, and faithfully with the knowledge that the battle is won for me, and may also be won for others, not by me, but, by Him and the love he has already given.
