“Innocent Blood”
5/1/14
5/1/14
“And shed innocent blood of their sons and of their
daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land is
polluted with blood.”
(Psalm 106:38)
A verse from the most recent of these
dissertations refuses to be put to rest, without having been further discussed,
and elaborated on in regards to its pertinence to the world, and to my nation
in particular.
Over the years of my life, I have
seen and noted a long and sure decline of all I believed that nation to stand
for, and all that it had to promise my own progeny.
I have seen the laws perverted to destroy
that which I fully believed in, and continue to believe in, all the promises
offered through the efforts and work done by those gone before me who valiantly
and unselfishly devoted their lives to providing a better and more peaceful
world for those of us who followed them.
I watched as my own generation began
to follow the precepts given by teachers who did not hold true to those same
beliefs, and fought against what that older generation taught, and sacrificed
for.
I watched as the honorable
professions of teaching were taken over by those who would prefer to burn a
draft card than to serve the country that provided an education and means of
providing for themselves.
I watched as the greed of those who
did not come from that same means were exploited by the lies and deceit of
those far greedier who made impossible promises of that “free bubble up and
rainbow stew” sung about in a song I particularly liked.
I watched as the greedy, and the
avaricious took over the posts of government, never having served in a uniform
of their country, never having sacrificed a single thing or moment of their own
time devoted to any but themselves who took advantage of a system built to
promote and continue a nation built on the statutes and laws of God in order to
deny those same statures and laws and even that very God who so graciously
allowed the building of that nation and its wealth that was so appreciated that
the entire world was envious of it.
I watched as honesty, hard work,
intelligence, and persistence were placed behind the immediate gratification of
all that was available without expending the effort to gain the “wealth” that
was the dream once possible for all.
I watched as the few holding to the
old precepts and teachings were taken into the ranks of those serving the
leadership that refused to recognize the need to continue to honor what had been
built, as they were deceived and lied to about what they were risking life and
limb for.
I watched as they returned from
serving a country that had promised so much to find the promises made empty and
worthless, their service thankless and despised by many of their own generation
who glorified deserters and denigrated those who chose to serve.
Innocent blood of sons and daughters
was sacrificed in Viet Nam, and all the following “police actions” and wars
that have followed for the benefit of those interested only in the profit to be
made by that blood and the lives expended.
Make no mistake; I remain a believer
in that service given. I remain ready, though perhaps not as able as I once was
to continue to serve, still willing to make a complete sacrifice for those
things I once thought to be the goals of my people.
The freedom enjoyed by that people,
the ability to worship the God that provided that freedom, the rights provided
through the statutes and laws passed and brought into being by those founders
ad forebears that so carefully placed them in context with the statutes and
laws of God remain a priority to me, and to all the others like me, now
disillusioned by the path taken by the people we so honorably and perhaps too
proudly, served.
The sacrifice of the blood of the
innocents continues, and the idols to whom they are sacrificed become all the
more apparent to any willing to open their eyes and ears to see and hear past
the deceit and lies offered in the form of “policy” and social change that only
destroys all the more the nation I served, and would destroy if possible, the
God I continue to serve.
The love of many has waxed cold
indeed toward the things of God, the needs of others, the values and morals
that are taught throughout the scripture that once provided for the building of
all the affluence and wealth they have enjoyed and continue to seek.
Organizations founded and formed for
the protection and care of those who served are ignoring the needs of those who
sacrificed so much for those running them, to the very point of tacit denial of
life because of a knowledgeable choice not to honor promises given the young in
return for that service.
That scripture quoted in that other
message continued beyond where I left off, and I will include it for further
edification after one more observation that forced that verse used in the
opening to mind once more today.
Blood given by innocents is denied by
those who choose idols of power over truth and service as is supposed to be the
purpose of their holding offices to which they were elected TO SERVE!
Deceit and lies were the premise on
which they were elected, and continue to be the paths chosen to be followed
even as those lies and deceptions are exposed.
I for one believe enough blood and
lives of sons and daughters has been expended for the false gods honored by the
self-serving, self-seeking people that know no bounds of honesty or morality…
who simply put do not know or honor my God, his teachings, His Son, and what he
gave for us that should be placed far above what they attempt to offer through
those lies.
“Thus were they defiled with their own works, and went a whoring with
their own inventions.
Therefore was the wrath
of the Lord kindled against his people, inasmuch that he abhorred his own
inheritance.
And he gave them into
the hand of the heathen: and they that hated them ruled over them.
Their enemies also
oppressed them, and they were brought into subjection under their hand.
Many times did he
deliver them; but they provoked him with their counsel, and were brought low
for their iniquity.
Nevertheless he
regarded their affliction, when he heard their cry.
And he remembered for
them his covenant, and repented according to the multitude of his mercies.
He made them also to be
pitied of all those that carried them captives.
Save us, O Lord our
God, and gather us from among the heathen, to give thanks unto thy holy name,
and to triumph in thy praise.
Blessed be the Lord God
of Israel from everlasting to everlasting: and let all the people say, Amen,
Praise ye the Lord.
(Psalms106:39-48)
As mentioned
also in another of these sermons, a Plumbline was established long ago, it is
to the return of that Plumbline that we now need to return.
It is that
same prayer offed in that 47th verse that needs to be offered by
THIS people NOW, in the time that is on us of that same defilement that has
occurred, that same neglect of God, and the promise made. The time has come for
this nation in particular, and many others as well to:
“Repent: for the
kingdom of heaven is at hand!”
I close in
prayer, that same prayer needed for nation and individual for redemption
through repentance that remains the only surety and only hope that will ever be
made available to us, or any other people.
I remain
that same simple sinner, saved by grace through faith in that same God in the
surety of that very redemption for myself, and also praying for that redemption
of both my nation and the souls that comprise it.
I remain the
soldier chosen to make all aware of the need for the shedding of blood that has
already been shed, that made all other sacrifice unnecessary to attain that
promise of that eternal life where the Truth makes no room for the lies, The
Way allows no wandering to paths leading away from The Life that is, and
awaits.
Blessed be
the Lord God, Blessed be his Master plan, blessed be those who choose to
recognize the salvation available and accept both the Salvation given only
though Christ Jesus, and accept also the precepts and teachings of my Lord.
2 Timothy 1:12 King James Version (KJV)
12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.
Amen and Amen
