God Thought... the Wayfarer 4//13/13
"God thought, therefore I Am"
4/13/13
“And God said let us make man in our image, after our
likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the
fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every
creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
So God created man in His own image, in the image of God
created he him; male and female created he them.
(Genesis 1:26&27)
Today’s title, once again is taken
from a personal experience instead of directly from the scripture.
In my pursuit of an education, I
found many interests and various courses to aid me in understanding my purpose
in life.
History and languages were where I
found many answers. Philosophy and the writings of various “thinkers”, was yet
another, and a requirement toward reaching my eventual goals.
One of the professors that still
stands out in my mind was a great advocate of Des Cartes, and his instruction
could not help but to show it.
His favorite quote was,” I think,
therefore I am”. On this simple statement he attempted to predicate an ability
to exercise complete control of life’s directions and rewards.
He stated that if we presented
ourselves as anything we wanted to be, that is what we were. (Semi-truth) He
went on to say that you could dress the part of a successful business man, buy
and drive a car such as would be expected of such a person, learn the language
and code words of that particular clique and be accepted into it thereby
attaining your goal.
By the end of that particular course
I really felt sorry for this misanthropic individual, so in search of success, that he failed to realize the true requirements to achieve what were his own
stated goals.
I accepted him for what I found him
to be, nothing more than a common con-man, lying to the students, and, more
importantly, to himself.
I completed the requirements of this
particular course, got my, “A”, on the transcript and felt that I had wasted the entire time
taken to do so, while actually learning nothing.
I was wrong, I did learn something
from the course.
I learned a great deal more about the greed and absolute depths of depravity to which some of my fellow man was willing to go to justify that greed and depravity.

Des Cartes did have much to teach, as
did Plato, Voltaire, Nietzche and others that were covered.
Some of what was taught was truth,
but most was falsehood after falsehood, misleading young folks into believing
that the laws of God could be violated, and that violation could be justified if they were applied only to others
instead of taking a long hard look in the mirror.
Des Cartes didn't quite get it right, God did!
Des Cartes didn't quite get it right, God did!
Just because you think a thing
doesn’t make it so! Just because you have a want does not justify any means
taken to achieve it.
"Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit to your stature?
And why take ye thought for raiment? consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
And yet say I unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
(Matthew 6: 27-29)
God spoke the WORD that brought us
into existence,
It is that WORD, alone, that has the
power to assure the satisfaction of reaching a goal worthy of your life.
It was that Word that gave us this instruction in what is, and is not important in that life. Jesus continued the above statement to include the things to be asked for and those already known by the Father.

For my philosophy instruction, I find
my mind much better educated by Job, Ecclesiastes, Proverbs, Psalms, the laws of
Moses, called the Ten Commandments, and most particularly and singularly the
teachings found in the gospels given by THE WORD!
“Take heed that ye do not do your alms before men, to be seen
of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.
Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet
before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that
they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, they have their reward. “
(Matthew 6:1&2)
Although I will not include the
complete chapter of this scripture, it is the very definition of how to achieve
a worthy goal in life.
I encourage the reader to read for yourself the entire chapter, for it has much to say about folks who think like that long ago professor, the current crop of politicians that we allow to continually convince us of a sincerity in pursuing our welfare, many new age religious leaders and philosophers….salesmen, and con men all, seeking the same goals, each and every one, and doing so by deceit.

I would also encourage the reader to
continue the reading with that of the 7th chapter, to avoid the
pitfall of judging those we find practicing this particular craftiness.
We need judge only one and that one
is the one we face in the mirror.
We must, however be aware of them,
and avoid their deceptions, striving to overcome those deceptions with the
practice of the TRUTH that was given us by the Word.
God thought each and every one of us
into existence for a purpose. It is up to us to find that purpose and honor it
by giving it the hard work and effort it deserves.
Searching for any purpose other than that given us by God is futile, and can only lead to destruction, here in this life, and more importantly, will result in a necessity to admit our failure when we stand before Him at the Judgment Throne.

Think! Use all your mental acuity and
physical ability to get through this life, but do so with a healthy fear of God
in the sure and certain knowledge that there is a higher purpose than the pitiful rewards
you may acquire while breathing the air given you by God to accomplish your true
purpose… which is to glorify HIM.
This may only happen if you ASK for
the help and succor given by an intercessor, sent not only to teach us, but to
provide us with a WAY to achieve the goal we should be seeking…Perfection, and LIFE through the sacrifice of, and faith and belief in, our Savior, Jesus, The Word!.
Jesus was, is, and will always be, "THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE", and the only acceptable means to reach the Father!
Jesus was, is, and will always be, "THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE", and the only acceptable means to reach the Father!
I salute, once more, my fellow
wayfarers in this alien world, secure in the knowledge that this
Simple sinner has been salvaged and provided for by that Savior, and through HIM, have hope in the resurrection to come.
Be who you profess to be… nothing more or
less, mean what you pray, pray what you mean, put forth the effort required to attain not only your goals in this life, but stringently demanded to reach them in the next!
Your Servant,
but more importantly
His,
2 Timothy 1:12 12For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.
AMEN AND AMEN !
