Shake the Dust
Matthew 10:11-16 King James Version (KJV)
11 And into whatsoever city or town ye shall enter, enquire who in it is worthy; and there abide till ye go thence.
12 And when ye come into an house, salute it.
13 And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you.
14 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.
15 Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.
16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.
Wherever the gospel is taken, there will always be those who refuse to accept it, or who will distort it until it is acceptable to those unwilling to hear the simple message of redemption for repentance.
Other gospels will constantly be easily accepted while there is no mention of the necessity of repentance, or why that repentance is in fact needed.
Opulent, affluent, influential structures will continue to rise, as those seeking that same opulence, influence and affluence readily promote HALF of the gospel, the reward to be gleaned, never once referring to why there is need of any reward other than that promoted by them... all too often offering a warm fuzzy in exchange for whatever is being sold by the participants, those prophets of profit who see only the grandiose buildings and means of further accumulation of wealth that they are built to accommodate.
Those buildings, their stages for the show to be given, their smoke and mirrors that make that show so palatable to the masses, will of a necessity continue to demand more and more support, so the show can go on.
The message of reward without repentance will continue to pack the confines of ever expanding walls devoted only to that expansion, rather than the expansion of the kingdom.
"Social" issues will be examined, with the demand for acceptance of "social" cures instituted by men, denying the need to examine the cure for a disease called "SIN" that demands only repentance in return for the redemption to ETERNAL life.
The need to recognize GOD as GOD while recognizing His authority will be relegated to places other than these, as these will continue to place man at the center of power and center of importance, the center of consciousness, the center of a Universe created by and for God himself.
Products, and entertainment will continue to be offered to assure the continuance of the affluence, influence and respectability of men, while denying the Omnipotence of that very Creator, by denying their very place in that creation, seeking to promote themselves through their promotion of the half of the gospel that they use as justification for their actions, while others have no shoes, no sandals, no opulent buildings, but remain devoted to the entire gospel, despite circumstance or locality to which they were sent to serve.
The hunger for the salvation of souls will continue to drive THESE, when physical hunger goes unassuaged, physical need goes unnoticed, because they comprehend the need of the soul exceeding the wants of their corporeal body.
By very definition, THESE, must and will always be few, while the masses around them seek the prosperity of a condemned world, and the condemnation that "prosperity" entails.
Still they heed the demand of the Master to proliferate the Gospel of Christ Jesus despite the loud proliferation of "other gospels".
Matthew 28:18-20 King James Version (KJV)
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Their love of Christ, flows through to their love of their fellow men, as the necessity of the soul is apparent to them, even if not to those who hear and refuse the gospel brought by Christ, as they shake the dust of the journey from their feet, only to continue that journey as intended.
2 Timothy 1:12 KJV
12For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.
Amen and amen
