When no Ball Drops

Mark 14:61-63King James Version (KJV)

61 But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and said unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?
62 And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
63 Then the high priest rent his clothes, and saith, What need we any further witnesses?

Once again, after fastidious preparation, and immense anticipation the crowds that gathered in the cold were rewarded with the "dropping of the ball" to announce a new year.
Greater expense than ever went both into the preparation of the segments of glass and their assembly and into the security demanded by the vast numbers of people assembled for this exiting moment in anticipation of the future and remembrance of the past combined, a chance to say "I was there".
A simple question, not asked by those in attendance is "Of what significance is the dropping of a glass ball and the fireworks that usher in yet another measure of time as measured by men?"
All around the globe, celebration was held, ceremony adhered to, crowds gathered together as the numbers on a calendar advanced denoting little, other than the advance of time itself and the continuation of a race ready to celebrate its own existence, its own "advances", its own priorities that too often neglect greater priorities.
Parties were planned and held without regard to the expenditure of funds, while bills already incurred for necessity were ignored in order to properly "celebrate" a new year.
Months of preparation were once more poured into a single moment of time, whose significance is shadowed annually by the arrival of yet another of these moments marking nothing in reality, nothing of permanence, nothing of real importance other than the simple passage of time.
There is, however a moment, yet to come, that will be celebrated by some, and feared by many more that is of the greatest of importance to all living, breathing, descendants of Eve, that transcends time itself, transcends even the seeming permanence of death itself where the passage of time has been interrupted until the real permanence of eternity begins.
That moment begins with the fulfilment of the assurance left by Christ Jesus, even as He stood trial in the kangaroo court held that sought to bind him with the permanence of death, sought to eliminate all cause for the celebration of Life eternal, sought to confine mankind to the "magnificent moments"  that lay merely as markers along the temporary timeline of temporal life.
Little preparation is given toward that moment by men, there are no glass balls being assembled, no colorful displays of fireworks, no release of confetti planned well in advance for the assemblage that must and shall take place.
Despite the lack of preparation , by men, there is indeed preparation made well in advance, preparation unlike any other before it as the angels themselves prepare for that assembly.
The fireworks prepared have function and beauty indeed... for some, as the celebration begins in earnest for those celebrating the return of the King of Kings, Lord of Lords, in far greater glory than any celebration offered by mankind that extends to the bounds of the universe to be witnessed by each and all.

Romans 14:6-12King James Version (KJV)

He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.
For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself.
For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.
For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.
10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.
11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.
12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.

No dropping ball, no matter how expensive, no matter how skillfully assembled, no matter how well protected, no matter how loudly lauded or long advertised gives more cause for celebration, more reason for preparation, more hope and expectation than may be expected by those having heard the necessity of that preparation in advance of the arrival of a day that celebrates the beginning of no new year, no new week, no new day, but the infinity of eternity, and Eternal LIFE that knows no timeline, no limits as conceived by men and comes only once whether received in the joy of having made that preparation, or in the trepidation of having ignored the significance of THAT moment yet to come.
"REPENT! For the kingdom of heaven is at hand."

2 Timothy 1:12King James Version (KJV)

12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.
Amen and Amen
the Wayfarer.
