Refuge and strength...the Wayfarer

Image
Refuge and strength Psalm 46 King James Version (KJV) 46  God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. 2  Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; 3  Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah. 4  There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High. 5  God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early. 6  The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted. 7  The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah. 8  Come, behold the works of the Lord , what desolations he hath made in the earth. 9  He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, an...

The Basis of all Law..the Wayfarer 4/3/13

4/3/13 The Basis of all Law “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.” (Matthew 5: 17&18) Today we begin to take a look at the law that Christ was speaking about in His Sermon on the Mount. He refers to the law many times in many places throughout the four gospels, continually trying to open the eyes of those to whom he is speaking as to the true meaning of the laws. I am convinced that Jesus knew every word of the scriptures that had been made available to the Jewish people of the time! I am further convinced that that particular people, just as we see even more so today, had corrupted that law to the point of making it a mockery of its intent. We will begin to take a look at ten of those laws, known to us as the Ten Commandments, given to Moses in the desert ...

“The Pride of Thine Heart”...the Wayfarer 7/26/13

7/26/13 “The Pride of Thine Heart” The pride of thine heart hath deceived thee, thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, whose habitation is high; that saith in his heart, Who shall bring me to the ground? (Obadiah 1:3) We turn today, once again to the words of one of the “lesser” prophets for the message necessary to attempt to turn the direction of a nation and its people back to the direction it was intended to follow when initially founded and blessed by our God. This is a short book, a single chapter, obfuscated and often overlooked which has pertinence to this and many other nations in the climates of today’s politics and philosophical teachings, and the conflict of doctrines and beliefs that will only allow destruction as a result of the division along the lines of those teachings of men taken over the laws given us by God. “The vision of Obadiah. Thus saith the Lord God concerning Edom; We have heard a rumour from the Lord, and an ambassador  is...

Who changed the truth of God...the Wayfarer 3/28/13

3/28/13 “Who changed the truth of God into a lie?” “Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshiped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever, Amen.  For this cause God gave them up to vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise the also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet.  And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;  Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,  Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to par...
