Whose Ways are Equal?...the Wayfarer

Image
Whose Ways are Equal? Ezekiel 18:29 King James Version (KJV) 29  Yet saith the house of Israel, The way of the Lord is not equal. O house of Israel, are not my ways equal? are not your ways unequal? Equality and justice are far more than mere words of the lips of those demanding them. They are more than the concepts of what is contained within the laws of men that purport to distribute both equality and justice through limited and narrowly seen definitions of that law that is intended to enforce those concepts. Yet justice demands that equality be examined, and confirmed, for each that sees inequality and injustice in a world that remains unjust and unequal in the eyes of all demanding those concepts for themselves and on the part of others. Hypocrisy  abounds as men seek to be more "equal" than others, without accepting the responsibility of that equality. Laws are established in profusion for the protection of "all", only to ...

Warriors, or Worriers?...the Wayfarer

Image
2 years, 2 months ago Warriors, or Worriers? “And the vale of Sidim was full of slimepits; and the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah fled, and fell there; and they that remained fled to the mountain. And they took all the goods of Sodom and Gomorah, and all their victuals, and went their way. And they took Lot, Abram’s brother’s son, who dwelt in Sodom, and his goods, and departed. And there came one that had escaped, and told Abram the Hebrew; for he dwelt in the plain of Mamre the Amorite, brother of Eshcol, and brother of Aner: and these were confederate with Abram. And when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his trained servants, born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued them unto Dan. And he divided himself against them, he and his servants, by night, and smote them, and pursued them unto Hobah, which is on the left hand of Damascus. And he brought back all the goods, and also brought again his br...

Looking for that blessed hope...the Wayfarer

1 year, 7 months ago Looking for that blessed hope     (Titus 2:15)   11  For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,   12  Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;   13  Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;   14  Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.   15  These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.     Looking for that blessed hope! That hope, and the certainty of its attainment are central to the belief of Christianity, and has been central to it from the beginning when first preached by the apostles, and from the first church at Antioch to any churc...

Judge Righteous Judgment...the Wayfarer

Image
J udge Righteous Judgment 24  Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment. John 7:24 King James Version (KJV) Righteous judgment requires righteousness. The righteousness required for righteous judgment cannot be held by men, but is held by God alone. The 7th chapter of John details a "righteous" people led by an "elect" group of Pharisees, who, having heard the Son of God, seen the miracles performed by Him clung to their own righteousness, denying a righteousness far greater than their own despite the warnings of the scriptures they perverted for their own purposes as they sought to kill that very righteousness they claimed to seek. In the opening verses, we find that even His own earthly brethren denied that righteousness, unable to accept belief, choosing instead, the love of the world as it stood, rather than as it was intended. Jesus sent them to the feast and celebration in knowledge of that love, and th...

Except There Come a Falling Away...the Wayfarer

Image
2 years, 1 month ago Except There Come a Falling Away "Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exhalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. (Thessalonians 2:1-4) That falling away, spoken of by Paul, prophesied by Christ, is in the process of coming to conclusion and fruition as the love of many has waxed colder than the subzero temperatures of winter in the Arctic climes of this insignificant speck of dust whirling continually toward the inevitable end that ha...
