What was Christ Paid?
Luke 15:10
King James Version (KJV)
10 Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.
Why did Jesus CHOOSE to come to us as a lowly human being despite the glory and power He already had in heaven?
Why did he knowingly CHOOSE the demeaning and demanding effort to supply a means of forgiveness in full knowledge of the necessity of His own blood sacrifice that accompanied the misery of exposure to the sin that infested and infests mankind?
What was he paid for all of the miracles performed, and the time spent expounding on the means of man's reunification with God?
What possible personal gain was acquired through having lived among men, being exposed to the sin that He so hated, and hates, that comes only from within them?
What was gained by the daily press of the multitude that took so much of His time, when that time could so easily have been spent at rest and at peace enjoying the wealth of the entire universe that was rejected in order to accomplish a means of that precious reunification?
Why did he CHOOSE to live among the poor and maimed and broken people starving both for sustenance physically and spiritually?
Why did he choose to wander constantly from city to city without benefit of safety and solace of even a simple hut or hovel that could provide place for him, though he could so easily have lived with the rich and prosperous in their castles and mansions that rightly belonged to this King of Kings?
Why did he take his meals with those ragged and poor, sharing their meager fare when feasts were available from dawn to dusk and beyond among those same rich and prosperous who continually had what rightly belonged to HIM?
Why did He endure the scorn and belittlement that was heaped upon Him by those of our kind that would not be moved to comprehend the price of their wealth, place of honor and lack of compassion that was demanded, and continues to be demanded by the Father?
Why did he refuse to retaliate, despite complete power to do so, against those who continually falsely accused and berated Him?
What was the profit gained for these efforts?
What was gained was the simple gain of guiding the world to the means of residing in God's LOVE and escaping His WRATTH for any and all who could accept the simple message of redemption for repentance He came to deliver, that could only be delivered by HIM through the choice made to submit to the necessity of HIS own sacrifices, both in the life he lived, and in the supreme sacrifice of even that life itself in order to prove the eternity of mankind's soul, through overcoming even death itself, by HIS resurrection to provide for our own.
His payment was not in the riches of this world, not in the finery and opulence sought by men, but was instead a request for the love of men for God that was a prerequisite for his very creation.
Love in return for love!
John 3:16-18
King James Version (KJV)
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
What was paid to Christ required the price be paid BY Christ.
That price, beyond the ability of any to possibly pay for themselves, was paid willingly and lovingly and remains paid in full for those willing to accept the LOVE given by God, willing also return that love through the means provided by the simple message of redemption for repentance and the single commandment left us by the deliverer of that redemption.
What will be paid, will only be paid when mankind, each and every member of this creation, bows their respective knee, and confesses knowledge of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, accepting the supremacy and finality of the judgement by HIM of what remains due, on both sides of the ledger.
Revelation 22
King James Version (KJV)
22 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:
4 And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.
5 And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.
6 And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done.
7 Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.
8 And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things.
9 Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.
10 And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand.
11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.
12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.
16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.
17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
And AMEN!
