Ye Believe in God, Believe Also in Me....the Wayfarer

Ye Believe in God, Believe Also in Me. John 14:1  KJV 1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. Belief...Faith...Acceptance of the REALITY of the existence, omniscience and omnipotence of the Creator...His superiority and Authority over His creation are concepts that appear to be fading, diminishing, while the search for another greater power that does not exist becomes ever more acceptable to a youth deluged with the same false teachings that have been propagated among the children of Eve since the banishment from the Garden of Eden. It was Eve's acceptance of a lie that initiated the original sin that first brought death and separation from our Creator, and that has plagued mankind with the result of that lie ever since. Man has come to believe in science, an invention of his own above the reality of his Creator. The whispers of lies from that creature in the garden that subtly came to her and convinced her continue b

Were You There,,, the Wayfarer

A favorite old hymn asks the title question, “Were You There?” The answer to that question is to be found throughout the scriptures, to include the one with which I opened. Yes, you were there, as was I, as were all human souls born then and since! Perhaps

“Strangers and Pilgrims”...the Wayfarer

2 years, 10 months ago “Strangers and Pilgrims ” “Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;” (1Peter 2:11) Today, we go to the writings of the rock on which Christ founded his Church. Of all the apostles, Peter was the first to recognize the need to wholly commit to the great commission. Both he, and Paul, took the message of salvation beyond the confines of the few who knew of Jesus, and his sacrifice, among their own people to the rest of the known world, giving guidance to those believers living among societies that themselves refused that message. Both were persecuted for their efforts but neither ever gave up in the commitment to assure that message be passed to all who would listen. Both of these men were strangers and pilgrims, both were at ease with the fact that they were aliens to those to whom they went. When we hear the word Pilgrim, here in this cou

The Well is Deep...the Wayfarer

The Well is Deep John 4:11 KJV   The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water? As Jesus sat, speaking with the woman of Samaria, she was perplexed and nonplussed at the offer extended of living water that quenched a thirst continually, without the need to be replaced by more that could be drawn only by means of a vessel and the means to lower that vessel to the water. As the conversation continued, the thirst was defined as far more than a natural need of water, being, rather, a need for the refreshment and comfort of an eternal soul that could be reached only through the Vessel able to draw from a well within that Vessel itself. Many times in life that refreshment seems distant, the depth of the well prohibitive to drawing from it, as the means chosen for drawing remains inadequate. Depression and despair often make that depth from which that refreshment man be drawn al
